Learn about vigilant mode.

Kinden 0.5.0 adds live content updates, contextual actions and more reliable Windows alerts.

  • Friends, messages, sparks, shops, profiles and server changes update in place. Reconnection preserves the current view and unsent drafts.
  • Right-click messages, users, servers, channels and categories for relevant actions. On mobile, hold to open the same actions; moving your finger cancels the hold so scrolling still works.
  • Windows message, mention, invitation and call alerts now arrive through authenticated live sync, including new DMs and delayed Matrix events. Alerts are deduplicated, rapid notifications are no longer discarded, and notification settings include a Windows test button and failure feedback.
  • Name plate creation and editing now support left, center and right text alignment, with a live preview.

Existing Windows installs download this update in the background. Use Restart to update when it appears. If device notifications were previously disabled, use the Enable alerts banner or Settings > Notifications. Keep Kinden open or minimized for desktop alerts; Windows Do not disturb and notification permissions still apply.

Validation: 55 automated regression tests; 9 isolated tests inside the deployed API container; browser checks for reply menus, channel editing, long-hold cancellation and draft preservation; a real Windows notification confirmed by the operating system. Installer/update checksums are verified before publication. The installer is currently unsigned.
