v1.231.5
[1.231.5] — 2026-09-09
Security — seven advisories closed, one of them a critical remote-code-execution. No source file changed.
Security
Merged from Dependabot: multer 2.2.0 → 2.3.0 (high — denial of service via a file-descriptor leak on abort) and svgo 4.0.2 → 4.1.0 in the site (high + medium — removeScripts let executable links through namespace and content handling, and incompletely sanitized executable HTML inside foreignObject).
Then five more, surfaced by the rescan those merges triggered. Every affected range was already satisfied by the existing ^ specifier, so each needed an update rather than a manifest edit: astro 7.1.0 → 7.3.2 in the site — critical, remote code execution through AVIF image optimization (fixed in 7.2.8), and with it an authorization bypass from a missing path-segment boundary check when stripping the configured base (7.2.4); sharp 0.35.3 → 0.35.4 — high, two libheif vulnerabilities; and js-yaml 4.3.1 → 4.3.2 in both manifests — high, maxTotalMergeKeys did not limit CPU use for empty merge sources.
Notes
"Dependencies only" is not the same as "risk free" here, so this was not shipped on the audit result alone. js-yaml parses every config the app reads and multer accepts every upload it takes, and Astro moved a minor version. Verified: npm run test:ci 3013/3013, the browser suite 4/4, and a full site rebuild producing the same 86 pages, all 17 changelog mirrors and a correct facts.json. npm audit reports 0 vulnerabilities in both manifests. Test baseline is unchanged because no source file changed.
