[1.71.0] — 2026-06-16

feat(cover): generate a cover-letter PDF straight from #/cover. The cover mode (added in v1.70.0) produces the letter text; the result now offers a Generate PDF button that renders it through the shared inline markdown→PDF pipeline (POST /api/stream/pdf/inline → generate-pdf.mjs), the same path interview-prep uses. You can now produce the letter and ship a PDF without leaving the SPA.

test/docs: v1.70.0 review hardening. Added CI-isolated coverage for the cover mode (allowlist + prompt assembly, via modes-endpoints.test.mjs), the flag <select> switcher + Arabic RTL (dirFor/<html dir>, new tests/lang-switcher-rtl.test.mjs), top.langLabel in every locale, the cover-letter PDF wiring (tests/cover-letter-pdf.test.mjs), and the prompts.mjs locale directive + scaffolding for fr/pl/uk/ar (tests/locale-scaffold.test.mjs — locking the latent French gap closed in v1.70.0). Refreshed three stale "all 8" → 12-locale / 9-help-bundle references in docs/sdd/CONVENTIONS.md. Refreshed the full-project QA regression prompt (qa/QA-REGRESSION-PROMPT-v1.71.0-FULL.md).
