In the Docker image server.py lives at /app/server.py where parents[2]
does not exist, so the module-level .env discovery crashed the container
on import (CrashLoopBackOff). Fall back to the module directory when
there is no repo root above us — load_dotenv on a missing path is a
no-op anyway.
