Jamfbreak v1.0.2

This release fixes the Windows GUI appearing to do nothing after Bypass is clicked.

Changes

  • Keep the button and progress indicator in the running state for the full restore operation.
  • Correct the GUI/Python API response-field mismatch.
  • Stream idevicebackup2 output and errors into the visible application console.
  • Show clear success, failure, and start-error states.
  • Preserve the existing guarded settings-only restore command and controlled reboot behavior.
  • Add regression coverage for native-output forwarding, GUI state handling, and cross-model backup warnings.

Safety notes

Jamfbreak performs a real settings restore. It does not request --remove, a firmware restore, or an IPSW operation, but no backup restore can guarantee that all data remains unchanged. Use only on devices you own or are authorized to modify, make a separate current backup first, and do not repeatedly retry a failed restore.

The bundled donor backup identifies itself as an iPhone 4 / iOS 7.1.2 backup. Other device models may reject it; v1.0.2 now exposes the native restore reason in the GUI.

Installation

Download Jamfbreak-v1.0.2-windows-portable.zip, extract the entire folder, read START_HERE.txt, and run Jamfbreak.exe. Do not run the executable from inside the ZIP.

Jamfbreak v1.0.1 — portable Windows bundle

This release contains one portable ZIP. Extract the complete top-level folder and open Jamfbreak.exe; the reviewed donor backup and native device helpers are already in the required locations.

Included

  • Jamfbreak.exe
  • Required libimobiledevice helper executables and DLL dependencies under bin/
  • Reviewed donor backup under backups/
  • START_HERE.txt, SECURITY.md, third-party provenance, and per-file SHA-256 checksums

No Python installation or manual copying of Jamfbreak runtime files is required.

Before opening the app

Windows must have iTunes or Apple Mobile Device Support installed so the Apple USB driver is available. Connect the authorized device by USB, unlock it, accept the Trust prompt, and confirm that iTunes can see it.

Important warnings

  • This executable is not Authenticode-signed. Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software may warn or block it. Do not disable security software or create exclusions.
  • Use only on devices you own or are explicitly authorized to modify.
  • Make a separate current backup first. Jamfbreak performs a real settings restore, so data preservation and successful boot cannot be guaranteed.
  • If a restore fails, do not repeatedly retry or force a reboot; the device state may be uncertain.

Verification

Portable ZIP SHA-256:

0ECAA9DE46FC50AB8C94F5C05D9BD7F2EC95A2D50E1416E279E75CF1845B8AF1

Validation completed before publication:

  • 43 offline safety/regression tests passed
  • donor backup validation passed
  • every bundled file matched its SHA256SUMS.txt entry
  • archive integrity test passed for all 164 ZIP entries
  • all donor and native runtime files matched content already public in FireMonster445/VitreosExploit

Jamfbreak v1.0.0 for Windows — unsigned pre-release

Warning: This executable is not Authenticode-signed. Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software may warn or block it. Do not disable security software or create exclusions. Verify the SHA-256 checksum before running it.

Jamfbreak is a Windows CLI and GUI utility for authorized testing and recovery workflows on supervised iOS devices. It performs a real settings restore, so data preservation and successful boot cannot be guaranteed. Use it only on devices you own or are authorized to modify, and make a separate current backup first.

Downloads

  • Jamfbreak-v1.0.0-win-x64-unsigned.zip.sha256 — SHA-256 checksum for the ZIP.
  • Jamfbreak-1.0.0-release-win.exe — original unsigned standalone executable from the initial release.

Required runtime assets

The ZIP intentionally does not redistribute third-party native binaries or donor backups. Before running it:

  1. Place reviewed libimobiledevice Windows helpers and all their DLL dependencies in bin/ beside Jamfbreak.exe.
  2. Place one reviewed, complete, unencrypted donor backup folder in backups/ beside Jamfbreak.exe.
  3. Install iTunes or Apple Mobile Device Support, connect the device by USB, unlock it, and confirm the trust prompt.

Python is not required when running the packaged executable. Read the included README.md, SECURITY.md, and SIGNING.md before use.

Safety controls

  • Validates the donor backup before device modification.
  • Re-reads and verifies the edited manifest before restore.
  • Uses a settings-only restore with --system --settings --skip-apps --no-reboot.
  • Never calls firmware or boot-chain tools.
  • Reboots only after a successful restore exit.
