3.9.4 – Icons where you put them
Extension icons don't all have to sit beside the hamburger. @snkiz dragged one in front of the tabs to keep it in view and found that, with hidden icons, FoxOne still counted it as part of the cluster: hidden, out of reach, and leaving a gap where it should have been. He worked out a cleaner definition of the cluster and sent the fix.
Fixed
- With
--uc-hide-extension-iconsenabled, only the run of extension icons beside the hamburger hides and reveals. Icons you place anywhere else in the tab strip, for example before the tabs, stay visible, leave no gap and no longer open the cluster on hover. (#62, fix by @snkiz in #63) - In Customize mode, the last items in the tab strip no longer slide under the hamburger and the extensions button. (#63, by @snkiz)
Notes
- Only
userChrome.csschanged.userContent.cssjust carries the new version number, no need to copy it again. - Known limitation: opening a popup from an icon outside the cluster still reveals the cluster while the popup is open. CSS can't scope that without nesting
:has(), and it's harmless. - Tested on Firefox 158 on Windows with
browser.nova.enabledset totrue, and by @snkiz on Firefox 158.
