First public release of rmvci-core, a Rust driver for the Toyota Mini-VCI (XHorse M-VCI) J2534 cable, built from reverse engineering the cable's firmware.

  • Device: serial, direct-USB (nusb) or custom Transport backends; DES handshake; one actor thread owns the port.
  • Typed Channel<P> for ISO 9141 / ISO 14230 / CAN / ISO 15765, with the filter width fixed by the protocol type so the two ways to wedge the adapter can't be expressed.
  • IsoTp: ISO 15765-2 through the firmware or host-side over raw CAN, including extended/mixed addressing.
  • KLineEcu: ISO 14230 with the vendor bring-up sequence, FAST_INIT, responsePending draining and wedged-ECU recovery.
  • Hardware-tested on Linux (x86_64, aarch64) and Android; CI builds and tests on Linux, macOS and Windows. MSRV 1.88.

The J2534 cdylib (rmvci-j2534) and the Android JNI layer (rmvci-android) are in this repo as source. rmvci-diag (KWP2000/UDS clients) and rmvci-net (TCP bridge) are included but not yet released.
