Release Notes — v0.0.48
Covers changes from v0.0.47 to v0.0.48.
Configurations
- New
configurations({...})table: named sets of values for a part's or an assembly's parameters, such as a bracket in M6, M8 and M10. - Each row lists only the values it changes. Everything else stays shared, and Default is the
param()values themselves. - Switch, add, duplicate, rename and delete configurations from the Configuration row of the Parameters panel.
- Manage… opens the whole table as a grid. Paste ranges straight from a spreadsheet.
- Assemblies insert a configuration by name:
insert(bracket, 'M8'), or pick it in the Insert dialog. - Export one configuration, or All configurations into one zip. The CLI takes
--configurationand--all-configurations.
Global parameters
- A
*.params.jsfile holds parameters shared by the whole project:export const wall = param('Wall thickness', 3). - Any part or assembly reads them with a normal
import, and rebuilds when they change. - The new Global Parameters button on the left rail, below Code, lists and edits them.
- Every expression input offers them under a G chip and writes the import for you.
Parameters panel
- The panel is now Part Parameters or Assembly Parameters.
- Changes are saved into the source as you make them, each one an undo step. No more Save button.
- A value outside a parameter's range or options is refused with a message.
Translate
- New Translate dialog on the toolbar, next to Mirror and Rotate.
- Drag the gizmo to move the solids, with a live preview, or type exact distances.
- Copy keeps the originals and adds moved copies.
Live previews
- Shell previews its walls while you set the thickness, its side and the join type.
- Extrude up to a face previews where it ends, for a picked face and for first/last face.
Assemblies
- Make an inserted part see-through with
.transparent(v), or Transparency… in the Parts panel. - The + file picker creates a part, an assembly or a global parameters file.
Other changes
- Breaking: every
part()must be exported from the top level of its file, and part names must be unique within a file. A part that breaks either rule does not build, and the error says how to fix it. - Picking an edge shared by two touching bodies now picks the one you clicked.
- Repeating a split cuts the same bodies again at the moved cut.
- Timeline: dragging the breakpoint keeps a single stop, and the list no longer jumps or flashes scrollbars.
- Lower memory use: the engine frees its temporary geometry after every build.
Bug Fixes
- Extrude to first/last face stops at the face it actually reaches.
repeat()andcopy()of a sketch with a spline, Bezier or 2D copy no longer fail.- Repeating a feature now also repeats the
axis()and 2Dcopy()inside its sketch. - Face colors no longer disappear from parts in an assembly after the first render.
- Hover-picking in a section view skips the faces and edges the cut hides.
- Finishing a sketch keeps the breakpoint it was created at.
- Editing a feature no longer lifts or misplaces the breakpoint.
- A hole's placements no longer add extra Select rows to the timeline.
