What's new in FoneClaw 0.0.8

  • Upgraded Koog to 1.1.1 and the Java runtime to 21, including compatibility handling for legacy tool-call arguments and stricter OpenAI-compatible services.
  • Improved image and attachment reliability with model vision capability controls, safer URL handling, refreshed temporary image access, and clearer 400/404 error guidance.
  • Added permission recovery that explains missing access, opens the relevant settings, and can resume the original task after the user returns.
  • Fixed repeated send-and-cancel flows so completed cleanup no longer stalls the next Agent request or keeps cancelled content in later prompts.
  • Added a modular, privacy-safe Firebase Analytics integration for task, approval, tool, permission, onboarding, Daily Brief, and feedback events.
  • Improved image summary retry behavior, camera and screenshot recovery, approval binding, tool policies, and localized failure presentation.

Validation

  • Both Online and Offline Release variants completed R8, Lint Vital, resource optimization, and signed packaging.
  • Both APKs are ai.android.claw, versionCode=8, versionName=0.0.8, and passed APK signature verification.
  • Online Release passed an upgrade install, cold launch, minimal text request, and real device_battery_status tool loop on SM-G9750 / Android 12.
  • Offline Release passed install and cold-launch smoke testing on a Pixel_10_Pro emulator / Android 17.
  • Both validation targets kept the app process alive with an empty Android crash buffer.

Known limitations

  • This is a GitHub Pre-release and is not submitted to Google Play.
  • The complete Samsung/Xiaomi/vivo permission matrix, Top scenario regression, and three-device compatibility matrix remain follow-up stable-release gates.
  • Relationship-memory device validation remains under review and is not presented as a newly completed v0.0.8 capability.
  • Additional custom OpenAI-compatible services and real LiteRT model inference do not yet have the same coverage as the public FoneClaw relay.
