System Settings

forelius edited this page Aug 1, 2026 · 1 revision

This is a complete reference to every setting FaDe registers. If you're looking for the big-picture tour instead, see the GM Guide.

Settings live in Foundry's Configure Settings → System Settings. Rule settings are world settings — the GM sets them once and they apply to everyone. Client settings are per-user preferences. Settings that change the rules almost all require a reload to take effect, and FaDe will say so.

Roll Table Pack fade-compendiums.roll-table-compendium

Display (Client)

Setting Default Notes

Settings Menu

  • User Tables (GM) — a menu for editing the system's data tables, like difficulty levels and tiered results, which drive the ability check dialogs.

Automatic Behavior

Two settings are coupled:

  • Changing the initiative mode to group sets the initiative formula to 1d6; any other mode sets it to 1d20 + @mod.
  • Selecting advanced group initiative forces declared actions on and disables the checkbox.

Stored Data (Not in the Settings UI)

FaDe also keeps a few internal values per world that you don't normally touch: the party tracker roster, the turn tracker data, global effects, the system's migration version, and your user tables.
