Releases: FoxVukOff/Base64-dll-decoder-and-encoder
Release list
Version 0.0.8
Added
- Optional password protection — encoding can now be secured with a password. Files encoded without a password behave exactly as before; files encoded with a password require the password to decode.
- Integrity check (MD5/SHA256) — the original file's hash is computed during encoding and stored inside the DLL. On decode, the hash is verified and the result is displayed to the user.
- Animated progress bar — file encoding and decoding now show a themed animated progress bar instead of plain text percentages.
- Optional info export — the "DLL Info" panel can now export its report to a JSON or plain text file.

Version 0.0.7
Added
- Extended format auto-detection after decoding: GIF, BMP, ICO, 7z, GZip, TAR, OGG, FLAC, legacy Office files (.doc), and smarter ZIP-based format detection (docx, xlsx, pptx, apk, jar).
- Overwrite protection for output files: options to overwrite, auto-generate a unique name, enter a custom path manually, or cancel the operation.
- Streaming encoding and decoding for large files now runs in a separate worker thread, so the main UI no longer freezes during heavy file operations.
- Progress indicator (percentage with processed/total size) for file-based encoding and decoding operations.
- Improved "DLL Info" mode with more thorough checks, including Base64 stream validation and predicted format after decoding.
- Clipboard feedback: the program now reports whether copying text to clipboard succeeded or failed.
Changed
- File writes now use atomic safe-write (write to temp file, then rename) to prevent data corruption on crashes.
- The "DLL Info" menu item was enhanced in-place rather than introducing a separate verification mode.
Fixed
- Clipboard copy feedback now correctly reports failure instead of silently ignoring it.
Full Changelog: 0.0.6...0.0.7
Version 0.0.6
Added:
- Clipboard Integration: When decoding DLLs to text, you can now seamlessly copy the extracted content directly to your clipboard.
- Meta-Tag Signature: Encoded files are now subtly watermarked. The "DLL Info" analyzer will recognize and verify files authentically created by this tool.
Changed/Optimized:
- RAM Usage Eliminated: Rewrote file encoding and decoding processes to use efficient data streams instead of loading entire files into memory. You can now encode/decode massive files (e.g., gigabyte archives or videos) with virtually zero RAM footprint!
Full Changelog: 0.0.5...0.0.6
Version 0.0.5
- Added Atomic File Saving: Implemented safe file writing via
.tmpfiles. If the program crashes or is interrupted while writing large outputs, data will no longer be corrupted. - Implemented Magic Bytes Detection: Added an auto-detection system for files losing their extensions during decoding. The decoder scans file signatures to correctly restore original formats (jpg, png, pdf, mp4, mp3, zip, etc.).
- Added an aesthetic ASCII logo to the startup menu.
- Updated version numbering to v0.0.5 across all related files and the startup script.
Full Changelog: 0.0.4...0.0.5
Version 0.0.4
- UI Cleanup: Removed overloaded "rainbow" text colors for a cleaner, more professional, and eye-friendly command-line interface.
- Renamed: The "Analyzer" feature is now simply called "DLL Info".
- QoL (Quality of Life): Added Drag-and-Drop support! You can now drag files directly into the console, and the program will automatically strip the Windows-added quotes from the paths.
- QoL: The program now automatically appends the
.dllextension if you forget to type it when reading or extracting info from a file.
Full Changelog: 0.0.3...0.0.4
Version 0.0.3
Refactored main.js to run in a continuous while (true) loop so the program no longer closes after every action.
Added universal file encoding/decoding (Options 3 & 4): you can now convert absolutely any file format (images, archives, videos) into a Base64 .dll and restore it back with zero byte loss.
Added a DLL Analyzer mode (Option 5) to inspect file sizes, estimate decoded payload sizes, and read format headers/signatures.
Updated title and version strings in main.js and start.bat to v0.0.3 to maintain consistency with the legacy 2024 GitHub history.
Completely rewritten README.md with beautiful markdown, documenting the new 2026 remake features and usage instructions, while preserving the historical note about v0.0.1.
