@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Jul 13:11

A big quality-of-life release: stay informed, see what your connection is actually good for, and personalize the look.

What's new

  • Update checker — the main menu shows an Up to date or Update available chip. Click it or press g to open GitHub.
  • About & Support — new Settings section (tab 4) with version, a GitHub ★ link, and Buy me a coffee. Press g (GitHub) or b (coffee) to open.
  • Your usual average — Speed Test now shows mean down/upload/ping across all saved runs, so you can see your typical connection at a glance.
  • "Good for" verdict — grades your connection Perfect / Good / Fair / Bad for Gaming, 4K, 2K, 1080p and Video calls (using real bandwidth needs), plus actual transfer-time estimates like "100 GB game ≈ 53m".
  • Copy result — press y on the Speed Test to copy ↓248 ↑19 12ms to the clipboard.
  • Apps using bandwidth — Bandwidth Monitor lists which apps are active on the network right now. Toggle with a. Cross-platform, no admin needed.
  • 9 new themes — Gruvbox, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, Solarized, Rosé Pine, Monokai, One Dark, GitHub Dark, Everforest (now 20 total).

Controls

  • Speed Test: y copy result
  • Bandwidth: a toggle apps panel
  • Menu / Settings: g open GitHub · b open Buy me a coffee

Notes

  • Apps panel shows connection counts (not byte totals) — true per-app byte accounting needs elevated privileges, which we avoided to keep it zero-setup.
  • Update check is non-blocking and falls back to a GitHub link when offline.
