For context: Vendicated/Vencord#4659. Note that I originally thought this was the fault of my music server since the MS UI shows the duplicated artists in the Initial tab - quite misleading. I have a ListenBrainz endpoint source set up, with a Koito client and a ListenBrainz client. I'd like to prevent multi-scrobbler from touching any of the metadata my music server sends. It is all correct and has embedded MBIDs, so ListenBrainz already knows how to match it. From reading the documentation, this is the config I've come up with: {
"debugMode": true,
"transformers": [
{
"type": "native",
"name": "disable_default",
"defaults": {
"artistsIgnore": [
"^.*$"
]
}
}
]
}(also tried with
[
{
"name": "lbEndpoint",
"id": "lbEndpoint",
"enable": true,
"data": {
"token": "<redacted>"
},
"options": {
"playTransform": {
"preCompare": [
{
"type": "native",
"name": "disable_default",
"title": false,
"artists": false,
"albumArtists": false,
"album": false,
"duration": false,
"meta": false,
"art": false
}
]
}
}
}

MS builds a default Native stage but it does not use it if you have not explicitly configured it to do so. The "for your convenience" is so that you can simply use it in config without having to configure it as well: {
"name": "MyJellyfin",
// ...
"options": {
"playTransform": {
"preCompare": [
{
"type": "native" // use native stage without needing to configure "transforms" in config.json
}
]
}
}
}^^^^ You absolutely still need to configure it, explicitly, anywhere you would want it to be used. If there is no You can confirm this for yourself in the Timeline for any Play on a Source or Client. If there are any transforms they are explicitly listed here with their diffs and a resulting Play showing you what was changed.
If you don't see a "Transformed play" step on the timeline then no transform stages, including native, were used to modify any of your data. There may be something else going on with how MS is processing the data you see in Vendicated/Vencord#4659 that is causing this but its not because MS is deliberately touching your data without you configuring it. It would be helpful if you could provide the Play Debug Data so I can reproduce the input for the LZ Endpoint Source. Then we can determine if this is a bug or an edge case that should be addressed. |

The fix for this was merged with #751 and a new option allowing "passthrough" of artist data was released in 0.20.0, available as
options.extractArtistsin file orLZE_EXTRACT_ARTISTSin env
