New features

  • JavaScript/TypeScript/JSX scene apps now run through FrameOS’s QuickJS-based TypeScript support, so more TypeScript syntax is accepted consistently between the editor, preview, and frame runtime.
  • Legacy-compiled scene tags now offer a one-click conversion action where supported, making old scenes easier to move to the current scene format.
  • The battery indicator in the frame admin UI now links directly to the battery chart.

Bug fixes

  • TypeScript-heavy scenes, including the Weather scene, should be much less likely to run out of memory during parsing/transpilation.
  • ESP32 battery readings are filtered more conservatively, reducing false “1% battery” style drops caused by ADC misreads.
  • Battery charts and indicators now ignore known-bad battery samples instead of treating obvious misreads as real readings.
  • Metrics charts now draw the data the visible plot can actually show, improving responsiveness with long metric histories.
  • Raspberry Pi deploys that need to build QuickJS from source now use the correct archive layout and path, fixing a fallback path that could fail when prebuilts were unavailable.

Maintenance

  • ESP32 firmware size was reduced by moving repeated app config handling into shared code and deduplicating CRC code, leaving more room in OTA slots.
  • App dispatch in generated firmware now uses a compact registry table instead of repeated keyword branches.
  • QuickJS prebuilts, Docker builds, and deploy tooling were updated for the new TypeScript-capable QuickJS build.
  • Added and expanded tests for JavaScript validation, ESP32 battery filtering, deploy planning, QuickJS installation
