DriverLens v0.2.0 — Desktop edition (ARM64): Notebook + Portable HTML Reports

Second release of the DriverLens desktop edition — still read-only, privacy-first,
local-only (no telemetry, no uploads, no HTTP port).

What's new since v0.1.0

  • USB Device Notebook — the app now keeps a local history of every scan on this PC:
    per-device driver versions, status and changes over time, plus per-device notes.
    Stored only under your user profile; never uploaded; clearable from the UI.
  • Portable HTML reports — export a scan as one self-contained HTML file that opens
    offline anywhere. Redacted by default (device identifiers become D01, D02 …);
    identifiers can be included with an explicit opt-in.
  • Native E2E suite extended to 15 cases covering the new views; desktop edition bumped
    to 0.2.0.

  • DriverLens_0.2.0_arm64_portable.exe — Portable app (native ARM64, PE 0xAA64) — run directly; no install.
  • DriverLens_0.2.0_arm64-setup.exe — NSIS installer (installs the ARM64 app).

Install / run

  • Installer: run DriverLens_0.2.0_arm64-setup.exe. Requires Windows 11 ARM64; WebView2 (normally included with Windows); PowerShell 7.
  • Portable: run DriverLens_0.2.0_arm64_portable.exe directly.
  • Upgrading from v0.1.0: install over the previous version (or keep using the portable exe). Upgrade/uninstall behavior is not yet verified — see limits below.
  • ⚠️ The installer is not code-signed — Windows SmartScreen may show a warning. Verify the SHA-256 above.

Verified / not verified (honest limits)

  • Verified locally on one Windows 11 ARM64 machine: 211 frontend tests (20 files), 106 Rust tests (92 unit + 14 IPC-boundary), 27 legacy-suite tests, 7 bundle/static checks, and a 15-case native WebDriver E2E run (synthetic collectors). CI status for this exact commit is visible under Actions.
  • Not verified: clean-machine install/upgrade/uninstall matrix; x86/x64 builds; any hardware matrix beyond one machine; SmartScreen warning behavior.

Privacy

Read-only inventory: the app never installs, disables, modifies, or removes drivers.
The Notebook store and all reports stay on your PC; the HTML report is redacted by
default. Nothing is uploaded. The collector script is included in this release for transparency.
