本次更新带来了更完整的使用指南，改进了桌面整理、集合与 Dock 的操作体验，并提升了桌面运行的稳定性。

边看边操作的使用指南

  • 新增分类使用指南，涵盖桌面图标、集合、分页、Dock 和组件等常用功能。
  • 可以把指南显示在桌面上，一边阅读步骤，一边尝试操作；需要调整设置时，可以跳转到对应位置，再返回指南继续查看。
  • 完善多屏分页和拖动操作的说明，并统一十种语言中指南与界面的关键术语，让说明更容易对照。

更方便的桌面整理

  • 改进按 Windows 桌面图标位置初始化布局的体验，并完善多显示器下的网格处理。
  • 布局间距最低可调至 10%，方便安排更紧凑的桌面；图标、组件外框和组件内项目的间距可以一起调整。
  • 改进从资源管理器及其他应用拖入文件、图片的处理。
  • 大文件夹模式下，可以直接从组件内部开始框选图标；在集合弹窗中按 Ctrl+A，只会选中当前集合里的项目。
  • 改进集合弹窗重命名、大小变化和毛玻璃显示，减少拖动及文件组还原时的闪烁。

更顺手的 Dock

  • Dock 中的集合支持扇形展开，并可通过“查看全部”浏览更多内容。
  • 改进前台应用状态的响应，以及点击启动时图标弹跳和提示框的显示。
  • 减少普通窗口最小化时，自动隐藏的任务栏被意外唤出的情况。

显示与稳定性改进

  • 改进启动画面，并提供终止启动的按钮。
  • 网站快捷方式可以显示对应的网站图标。
  • 修复部分文件夹快捷方式无法正常打开的问题。
  • 改进设置窗口最小化后恢复时的侧栏显示。
  • 改进显卡驱动重置后的桌面恢复，减少恢复后无法正常显示或操作的情况。

更多社区组件

  • 相册轮播：拖入照片或绑定一个文件夹，支持自动轮播、手动切换和裁切显示。

This update adds more complete usage guides, improves desktop organization, collections and Dock interactions, and makes the desktop more resilient.

Guides you can follow on your desktop

  • New grouped guides cover desktop icons, collections, pages, the Dock and components.
  • Keep instructions visible on the desktop while trying each step. Jump to the relevant settings when needed, then return to the guide.
  • Clearer instructions for multi-monitor pages and dragging, with key terms aligned between the guides and interface across ten languages.

Easier desktop organization

  • Improved layout initialization from Windows desktop icon positions and grid handling across multiple monitors.
  • Layout spacing can now be reduced to 10% for a more compact desktop. Adjust spacing for icons, component frames and items inside components together.
  • Improved handling of files and images dragged in from File Explorer and other applications.
  • Start a selection rectangle inside a large-folder component to select its icons. In a collection popup, Ctrl+A selects only that collection's items.
  • Improved renaming, resizing and glass effects in collection popups, with less flickering during dragging and file-group restoration.

Smoother Dock interactions

  • Collections in the Dock support a fan view, with “Show all” available to browse more items.
  • Improved foreground-app feedback, launch bounce animations and tooltip rendering.
  • Reduced cases where minimizing a normal window unexpectedly reveals the auto-hidden taskbar.

Display and stability improvements

  • Refined the startup screen and added a button to cancel startup.
  • Website shortcuts can display their site's icon.
  • Fixed some folder shortcuts failing to open.
  • Improved sidebar rendering when restoring the settings window from a minimized state.
  • Improved desktop recovery after a graphics-driver reset, reducing cases where display or interaction fails to recover.

More community components

Available through separate subscriptions in Steam Workshop:

  • Photo Album: import photos or bind one folder, with slideshows, manual navigation and crop-to-fill display.
  • Days Countdown: link an event to display the days remaining or elapsed.
  • Timer & Stopwatch: countdown presets, custom durations and a stopwatch.

These components are not bundled with the application. Update SnowDesktop to 1.0.6.0 before using them.
