Tern 0.3.0: Your agent, side by side

The agent can now work in a pane beside your pages, import brings your bookmarks and history, and tabs you aren't using sleep to save memory.

Spaces

• Import brings your bookmarks too, as a pinned folder in a Space or as a Space of their own.

Side by side

• The agent can sit beside your pages as a pane in split view, and a Desk keeps it in its place.

Everyday browsing

• Import brings your history, so the command bar finds pages you visited in another browser.
• Tabs you haven't looked at for an hour sleep to free memory, and load again when you open them. You can change the time in Settings.

Tern 0.2.0: A first run and fewer trackers

Tern now sets itself up with you in a minute, blocks known trackers and ads in every Space, and opens a tab beside another when you drag it onto the page.

Spaces

• A short first run brings your tabs over, sets up the agent and names your first Space, with its colour and an optional first task.

Side by side

• Drag a tab from the sidebar onto the page to open it beside what you're reading, on the left or the right.

Privacy

• Known trackers and ad servers are blocked in every Space, from the EasyList and EasyPrivacy lists.
• If a site doesn't work as it should, turn blocking off for it from the shield in the address bar.
• You can send crash reports to help fix Tern. They're off until you turn them on in Settings.

Details

• An empty Space shows its own illustration in its colours, with search, its agent and the pages you visited last.

Tern 0.1.0: The first Tern

The first public build of Tern, a browser for Mac with an agent in every Space.

Spaces

• Separate Spaces for work, home and trips, each with its own sign-ins, colour and icon.
• Pinned tabs and folders at the top of each Space. A closed pinned tab sleeps in its place instead of disappearing.
• Bring your Spaces, pinned tabs and folders over from the browser you use today.

Side by side

• Split view with two, three or four pages, and Desks that save a layout to reopen with ⌥1 to ⌥9.

An agent in every Space

• Ask Tern to read, compare and fill in pages for you. It asks before anything that sends, buys, books or pays, and never types passwords or card numbers.
• Pick Claude Opus, Sonnet or Haiku per Space. Conversations are saved, and Tern tells you when an agent is done or needs you.

Everyday browsing

• Find on page, history in the command bar, ⇧⌘T to reopen closed tabs, downloads, and page zoom remembered per site.
• Make Tern your default browser and choose which Space links from other apps open in.

• Liquid Glass throughout, Geist type, Tern's own icons, and motion tuned to feel calm. Reduce Motion is respected everywhere.
