You must be at least 13 years old to use ChatCLI. By registering an account you confirm that you meet this requirement and that your use complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password and session tokens secure.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
Passwords must meet the minimum strength requirements enforced during registration.
You may not use ChatCLI to:
- Post or transmit illegal content.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Attempt to disrupt, exploit, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure.
Accounts found in violation may be suspended or deleted without notice.
- Messages are stored long-term in the database.
- Messages are accessible only by the database root user and the server-side application.
- Messages are not encrypted at rest at this time. Do not share sensitive information you would not want visible to a server administrator.

ChatCLI is open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0. You are free to inspect, modify, and distribute the source code provided any derivative work is also licensed under GPLv3.
Running a self-hosted instance is permitted and encouraged. If you operate a public instance, you take on responsibility for its users and their data.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, data integrity, or fitness for any particular purpose. We are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, security incidents, or any harm resulting from user-generated content.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your own account at any time from the account settings in the app.
