Agent Quest 0.3.1 adds a small update notification to the 0.3 series: the dashboard lets you know when a newer stable release is available, shows what changed, and explains how to update manually.
Agent Quest in action: agent sessions and subagents in the village.
New in 0.3.1
- Release notifications — a discreet banner appears when a newer stable version is published on GitHub. Drafts, prereleases, and individual commits do not trigger it.
- Release notes and update instructions — expand the banner to read what's new, open the release on GitHub, and see the commands to update and restart Agent Quest.
- Remind me tomorrow — postpone a release for 24 hours, including across page reloads. A subsequent release can still be announced during that time.
- Background checks — checks are cached, require no GitHub login, and never block the dashboard when GitHub or the network is unavailable. Updates are never installed automatically.
Includes everything introduced in 0.3.0
See when an agent’s context is nearly full: live usage, peak context and compaction count.
- Context monitoring — context-window gauges, a fleet comparison dropdown, and optional alerts when a main agent is close to filling its context.
- Skills and plugins — per-agent telemetry, a live installed-skill inventory, and a fleet overview with Markdown and JSON exports for AI review.
- Subagent families — parent/child relationships, role-based hero appearances, and delegation context statistics.
- Claude Code and Codex support — including the newer Codex rollout format and Codex subagents.
See the 0.3.0 release notes for the full overview.
Updating from 0.3.0 or earlier
Update manually once to install the notification feature. Older versions do not contain the release checker and cannot display this announcement. Once you have installed 0.3.1, the dashboard can notify you about future releases.
Stop Agent Quest with Ctrl+C in its terminal, then run:
agentquest update
agentquestFor a manual installation, run these commands from your Agent Quest folder after stopping the app:
git pull --ff-only && bun install
bun startRefresh the dashboard after restarting. These commands follow main, which may include changes newer than the announced release. If Git reports a conflict, preserve your local changes and resolve it before continuing.
