This release brings major performance upgrades to YouTube search, expands the radio module with diverse ad-free stations, and introduces new configuration options.

Features & Improvements

  • YouTube Persistent Caching: YouTube (--yt) search results are now persistently cached to disk using atomic file writes. This dramatically speeds up repeated searches and prevents redundant yt-dlp network calls.
  • Smart Cache Pruning: The YouTube cache features an automatic 24-hour stale time expiration. Old search results are automatically pruned from the file during loads, ensuring the cache file never gets bloated over time.
  • Hidden Directory Scanning: Added a new scan_hidden_dirs option to the configuration file, giving you control over whether hidden folders (like .music) are indexed during library scans.
  • Expanded Radio Stations: Completely refactored the radio system to support a diverse, verified list of ad-free internet radio stations (including SomaFM, Lofi 24/7, and Vocaloid Radio).
  • Flexible CLI Radio Matching: Enhanced the --radio CLI flag to perform fuzzy matching (ignoring hyphens and spaces).
  • Smart Radio Auto-Play: If a --radio search yields exactly one match (e.g., --radio jpop), it instantly auto-plays. If it yields multiple matches, it seamlessly opens the TUI interactive picker narrowed down to those specific matches.
  • Dynamic MPV Title Sync: MPV now correctly identifies and capitalizes the current active radio station title in the terminal UI (e.g., [ LOFI HIP HOP (LOFI 24/7) ]).

Dependencies & Chores

  • Bumped skim to v4.9.0.
  • Assorted code hygiene and minor formatting improvements.
