What's New

  • Internal Update Downloads: App updates can download inside Settings with progress shown in the update row.
    • Install Prompt: After the update APK finishes downloading, ChemSearch prompts for installation.
  • Offline Save Progress: Compound downloads show progress directly in the download button.
  • Recent Search Sorting: Recents can be sorted by newest or oldest from the filter menu.
    • Pin Icons: Pinned recent searches use pin icons instead of stars.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Fixed isomer navigation from the main result page to the isomer search tool.
  • Fixed selecting an isomer result so it opens back in the main compound result screen.
  • Renamed OLED Mode to AMOLED Mode.
  • Improved AMOLED card outlines in Tools, Library, and related screens.
  • Fixed formula ordering for compounds such as :
    • Sodium chloride displays as NaCl instead of ClNa.
    • Sulfuric acid displays as H2SO4 instead of H2O4S.
  • Improved Chemical Database cards in Library.
    • Grid cards no longer show the entry-count pill.
    • List cards show database counts from an info button.
  • Removed the recent-search filter input and replaced it with a cleaner sort menu.

Technical Changes

  • Added FileProvider support for internal update APK installation.
  • Added update download progress state and install handling.
  • Added formula formatting support for familiar inorganic formula order.
  • Added tests for formula display and recent-search sorting.
