Help with your schoolwork is available 24/7 from the university Academic Support Center (ASC). Watch this short video to learn about ASC services and how to navigate the Academic Support website.
The following ASC services may be especially helpful in IT-140:

IT Office Hours: Best for asking questions about IT-140 coursework, assignments, projects, or course tools. Office hours are hosted by Learning Support Specialists (LSS), who are familiar with IT-140 and can access course content in D2L Brightspace, zyBooks, and Codio. IT-140: Intro to Python Workshop: Best for reviewing IT-140 topics and practicing course concepts, with time available for questions. Workshops are hosted by Learning Support Specialists (LSS), who are familiar with IT-140 and can access course content in D2L Brightspace, zyBooks, and Codio. 24/7 Drop-In Tutoring: Best for general Python and programming questions when you need help right away. 24/7 Drop-In Tutors know Python and programming but may not know IT-140 or its assignments and cannot access course content in D2L Brightspace, zyBooks, or Codio. The help you receive may therefore depend on how much information you provide. For IT-140, select:
- Topic: Computer Science and Programming
- Subject: Programming: Python
- Voice-Chat: Select this option if you would like to speak with a tutor. Voice chat may not always be available during off-peak hours.
- Enter your question: Provide enough information for a tutor who knows Python but may not know IT-140 or its assignments. If your work has an assignment repository, include the repository URL. Otherwise, provide the relevant requirements from the assignment guidelines and rubric.

Academic Coaching: Best for developing general academic skills such as reading comprehension, organization, time management, critical thinking, and problem solving. These skills support programming by helping you understand requirements, break problems into smaller steps, stay organized, and work through challenges systematically. Academic Coaches do not provide help with specific course topics or assignments.

Written Feedback: In IT-140, written feedback on the clarity, organization, and effectiveness of your writing is useful for discussion posts, the IDE Features reflection in Module Two, and Project One Theme. Strong writing skills also support programming by helping you explain technical ideas, document your work, communicate design decisions, and write clear comments and instructions.

Peer Groups are led by Academic Coaches and provide opportunities to connect with other students, share academic experiences, and build confidence and effective learning habits. There is currently no IT-140 or programming peer group. See the Peer Group Schedule for currently available groups in other subject areas.
