Design-time

TChart4D is on the component palette, from the design-only packages Chart4D_VCL_D and Chart4D_FMX_D. The Object Inspector reaches the plot settings that hold a single value: Kind, Title, Subtitle, Source, Orientation, StackMode, LegendPosition, LegendReversed, ValueLabels, HighlightedSeriesIndex, DonutCenterText and ShowTooltips, each mirroring the property of the same name on Plot. Series, categories and annotations stay in code, because they do not stream to a DFM.

A chart with an empty plot draws a sample at design time instead of nothing: your own title, kind and legend with placeholder data that fits the chart kind.

Under RAD Studio 13.0 every package also targets Win64x, so a 64-bit IDE can load them.

Demos

Both demo forms moved into the designer, the VCL one into a DFM and the FMX one into an FMX file, each with the chart on it.

Paint on your own canvas

TChartPainter paints a plot through a back buffer onto any VCL or FMX canvas, next to the TChart4D control that owns its plot and exports PNG snapshots. It puts a chart inside a report, a grid cell or a control you draw yourself.

Win64 fixes

The test suite now builds and runs for Win64, which exposed two bugs that only show up there, because Extended is an alias for Double on that target.

  • TAxisScale.NiceStepFromRaw called Power(10, Floor(...)) with two integer arguments. On Win64 that resolves to the Single overload, so Power(10, -1) came out as 0.100000001 and NiceBreaks(0, 1, 5) returned five breaks instead of six.
  • var X := 0.0 infers Currency on Win64 and Extended on Win32, so every running total was rounded to four decimals and stacked proportions ended up to 0.017 px apart at the top of a 100% stack. The seven affected variables are declared Double now.

Other

  • Bitmap comparison in VclCheck ignores the alpha channel.
  • The README is shorter and the Gallery tool is gone.

TChartPainter, the Win64 test build and both precision fixes come from @JaapBaak.
