Welcome to the atom-autocomplete-lua wiki!

Testing

Before submitting a pull request to the main project, we need to test our changes. To download and use my branch of autocomplete-lua, you'll need to follow those twenty five easy steps:

  • First off, you'll need to uninstall the original autocomplete-lua in Atom. Do that, close Atom and go to the next step.

  • Acquire git. If you are on Linux, you are in luck, because you already have it! On Windows, you'll need to install it, the binaries are available here.

  • Acquire the node.js Package manager (npm). You'll bloat your system to no end with that! But if you have Atom already installed, you already have node.js installed, so you might as well...

Linux users will use their system package manager (apt, pacman, yum...) to install the package called npm.

Windows users will go on the node.js web page and install npm bundled with node.js.

Congratulation, you are now a web "developer"! Now go to the next step.

  • Clone the repository with git in your atom package directory.

    • Go in your Atom package directory using the git cmd (Windows) or your terminal (Linoox) with cd ~/.atom/packages.
    • Type git clone https://github.com/GHGibonus/atom-autocomplete-lua.git --branch type-deduction --single-branch autocomplete-lua. This will clone my branch into a folder called "autocomplete-lua".
  • Your last task is to install the required dependencies of autocomplete-lua. To do so, go in the autocomplete-lua folder (cd autocomplete-lua) and type npm install. The installation process will take a while because node is so efficient!.

  • Once the installation process is done, you can close your terminal and open Atom. Go in the packages tab and look for autocomplete-lua. Look at its setting, if you find a drop down multiple choice option, select infers from already defined types.

  • Go make Isaac mods with an enhanced autocompletion system!

  • Encounter horrible bugs because I'm a very bad programmer (sad), and go report them there https://github.com/GHGibonus/atom-autocomplete-lua/issues

  • Happy modding!
