Unreal Tournament Xbox v1.1.9b Public Test
This is a public test build for the upcoming version 1.2 release. It is a full
package, not a patch. Please install it in a clean folder and follow the
included installation instructions.
Visual fixes
- Fixed the texture and lighting flicker that could make maps suddenly become
dark, overly bright, smeared, or stretched while playing - Fixed related problems that appeared after changing brightness, contrast,
and gamma - Tested the fixes while following moving bots through several visually varied
maps and repeatedly changing the display settings - Reduced intermittent texture pop-in and gameplay hitches caused by the
renderer recycling active texture-cache entries too early
Mutators and game modes
- Restored all fourteen standard Unreal Tournament mutators to the Xbox menu
- Added AgentX 0.99 and Akimbo Arena
- Fixed OldSkool Weapons so its Unreal minigun replaces the standard Unreal
Tournament minigun - Added Last Man Standing to Instant Action, Split Screen, and System Link
- Last Man Standing includes the expected lives setting, deathmatch maps, and
no-time-limit rules - Fixed the OldSkool minigun's looping sound playing too slowly and at too low
a pitch
Console maps
- Fixed startup failures in CTF-Phalanx, CTF-Spirito, CTF-Stormfront,
CTF-Sundial, DM-CanyonFear, DM-Halberd, DM-Hood, and DM-Pantheon - Rechecked all eight maps in live matches with bots
System Link (experimental)
- Improved joining, leaving, reconnecting, returning to the lobby, and moving
to the next map - Fixed false connection warnings that could appear during an otherwise healthy
match - The connection-problem icon remains active and will still appear when the
game detects a genuine network problem - Tested hosting, joining, map changes, connection loss, failed joins, lobby
re-entry, and longer two-console-emulator sessions
Tournament and menus
- Fixed the first match of a Tournament ladder crashing during loading
- Verified the first match and progress advance in all five Tournament ladders
- Fixed long menu pauses that could freeze both the music and CityIntro for
several seconds - Added the current version number to the bottom-right of the main-menu footer
Widescreen preview
- Added automatic widescreen detection using the Xbox dashboard setting
- Widescreen gameplay now shows a wider view instead of stretching the 4:3
game world - The original 4:3 view remains available when widescreen is disabled in the
dashboard
Known limitations
- The HUD and menus still stretch horizontally in widescreen
- Safe Area Size currently changes the entire picture rather than only moving
the HUD inward - Four-player widescreen and a wider range of real-Xbox HDMI/capture setups
still need additional testing - Co-op Tournament is not included in this public test
