HomeTiles Bridge v0.6.28
HomeTiles Bridge v0.6.28 adds the experimental camera transport required by HomeTiles firmware v0.6.3.
Camera (experimental)
- Select Home Assistant
cameraentities in HomeTiles Bridge → Configure → Entity configuration. - Supports direct stream sources and snapshot-only camera entities.
- Transcodes video to display-sized JPEG frames with FFmpeg.
- Uses receiver-paced local TCP transport (
tcp-ack-v1) so MQTT entity updates remain active. - Listens on the first available local TCP port from
8124through8131. - Negotiates camera protocol version 1 with HomeTiles v0.6.3.
- Reconnects interrupted sources and keeps only the newest pending frame.
- Supports independent sessions for multiple panels; each open panel starts its own FFmpeg work.
Camera support is experimental. CPU usage depends on source codec/resolution, requested frame rate and the number of simultaneously open panels. Camera popups require HomeTiles firmware v0.6.3 or newer.
Compatibility
All existing MQTT entities, controls, discovery, history, weather and energy features remain compatible with previous HomeTiles firmware. Only the new Camera tile requires the v0.6.28 camera protocol.
