Core
The Minigame Loader is initialized by the Jam and Arcade menus. It receives a curated list of minigames and a specific game mode to execute.
Important
To ensure a smooth transition into gameplay, all minigames are fully loaded into memory at the start. This may cause a brief freeze (a few seconds).
To minimize initial loading times, creators should optimize their assets:
- Audio: Trim songs and loops so they do not exceed 7 seconds.
- Visuals: Avoid using image resolutions higher than necessary for the 16:9 target display.
An Autoload service used to manage and display UI notifications across the application.
Triggers a notification overlay displaying the provided string.
An Autoload responsible for managing global audio states, transitions, and sound effects within the Gamutoware core.
Starts playback of the main menu background music.
Starts playback of the active gameplay background music.
Toggles the volume of the gameplay music without stopping the track.
Plays a specific sound effect from the global library. Standard effects include:
"click""damage""throw""win"
The GlobalCamera is the primary viewport controller for Gamutoware. It provides built-in systems for smooth scene transitions and dynamic screen-shake effects.
Triggers the visual transition animation.
-
Signal: Emits the
transition_timesignal at the exact moment the scene swap should occur. -
Usage: This is primarily utilized by the
GlobalAutoload to sync logic with visual fades or wipes.
Increases the "trauma" level to create a camera shake effect.
- Logic: Implementation is based on the Kidscancode Screen Shake method, where trauma is typically squared or cubed to calculate the current offset.
-
Parameter: The
amount(ranging from 0.0 to 1.0) is added to the current trauma level.
