Support for Iron Grip Warlord?

Hi there! I have a version of netradiant custom that successfully builds maps for Iron Grip Warlord. I got it from someone who was generous to provide it. This game is a custom version of id tech 3 and there's no public source code. You can still extract everything so examination of the files is possible. What I have builds working maps for this game but I don't know if there's more netradiant can do for it or if it's too much of a project to try to reconstruct what ISOTX did.

I see. So for now that fork of netradiant custom is good for Iron Grip Warlord. There's people interested in making maps and a small community playing so I'll direct them to that. I'll stay tuned if anything extra is updated on the main releases.

ISOTX did might have done different things with their id tech 3 coding. I remember reading somewhere that they couldn't decompile their own maps back then. Some regular quake 3 features don't work. I am in contact with one of the former devs and they might know about any specifics.

Decompilation is probably why they added side->drawsurf reference, like in RBSP, which is needless move, as netradiant decompiles regular maps nearly perfect, and most of code noise is due this bsp format altering. Would be just directly compatible w/o it.

As for dds, i think it's not cool to make loader insecure, because somebody used screwed writer, though XNView can load them 🤔

The .dds thing might not be an issue if mappers get a package with converted textures. You can then point the shaders to any new textures and load the converted package in a new .pk3. I remember spearmint engine adding support for this .dds format in one of their updates. I think the darkplaces engine also did something with it. Iron Grip will use .tga with no problems so for me it's not too bad. Any mappers would just need to be notified.
