ssh pane splits #468
|
While working in tmux I will often be ssh'd into another computer and would love to open a split or new workspace / window and have it automatically be ssh'd into the current panes computer. There is a plugin for this in tmux called https://github.com/pschmitt/tmux-ssh-split. |

Great idea, and thanks for the demo! tuios does not do this yet, so I am building it now:
I will post here when it is on main. |

Ssh-aware splits are on main now (#471). There are three new actions: They have no default keys. For example: [keybindings.layout]
split_ssh_vertical = ["alt+v"]
split_ssh_horizontal = ["alt+s"]
new_window_ssh = ["alt+w"]If you want the normal split and new-window keys to do this, like tmux-ssh-split's replace mode, set: [appearance]
new_window_follow_ssh = trueThe new ssh keeps the connection options (host, user, port, key, jump hosts and auth settings). Options that could run a local program, such as ProxyCommand, give you an ordinary pane instead. Your mosh works too. Eternal Terminal is not covered yet. If the remote shell reports its folder with OSC 7, the new pane opens in the same remote folder. fish does this out of the box, and the configuration docs show a one-line setup for bash and zsh. Thanks for the idea! |
