Ordinary, unspliced Pokémon no longer get their Summary portrait redrawn by Mutant Monster Lab at all. They stay on Gen1Recomp’s normal renderer, which preserves compatibility with other mods that supply already-colored/trueColor sprites.

For Pokémon that actually do have chromatic splicing visual mutations, the custom renderer now preserves that trueColor information unless the Pokémon specifically has a palette splice, in which case our transferred palette intentionally takes precedence.

If a Pokémon has a transferred palette from chromatic splicing, that palette now also applies to its player-side back sprite in battle.

Mutant Monster Lab v1.1.0 — Mutant Mayhem

The experiments have gotten out of hand.

v1.1.0 is an expansion to Mutant Monster Lab, adding new battles, items, and cross-mod integration.

Gameboy Kid Pokémon

A special Tier 3 Lab event can now lead to trading for a unique Pokémon.

It includes its classic form which can be swapped by speaking to the Gameboy Kid, compatibility with every TM/HM, and the ability to reach Lv255.

Experimental Types

Five rare mutation-only types have been added:

VOID • SUPER • NUCLEAR • SYNTH • COSMIC

Each has unique defensive properties and offensive affinities with existing Pokémon types.

Seven Experimental Moves

Discover:

ERASEREND • SUPERCHARGE • RIGAMORTIC • BIORHYTHM • COSMOSIS • GENESPLICE • REPULSEPUNCH

These can emerge from sufficiently unstable Pokémon and Holon Collider experiments.

Mutant Challengers

Facility Tier 4 now introduces seven rotating endgame challengers.

Each brings a unique team of six Lv100 mutants, for 42 unique experimental Pokémon across the complete roster.

Expect altered sizes, palettes, stats, types, moves, donor body fragments, unusual cries, and plenty of things that probably shouldn't be alive.

Experimental Genes

Defeating each challenger for the first time awards their unique one-use held Gene:

Berserk • Bulwark • Rapid • Haywire • Warding • Focus • Phantom

Each provides a powerful battle boost paired with a dangerous drawback.

Returning challengers can also award Rare Candies for subsequent daily victories.

PokeSurvive Integration

Players using PokeSurvive can now become GLITCHED through Lab experimentation.

Normal splicing has a small chance to trigger the mood, while activating the Holon Collider guarantees it.

GLITCHED causes unpredictable stat changes every battle turn alongside harmless visual and audio corruption in the overworld.

And yes, the Collider remains perfectly safe.

Probably.
