Engram v2.0.0-rc.11

This release candidate consolidates search quality improvements, safer Cloud lifecycle behavior, bounded MCP output, plugin/server reliability fixes, and repository governance hardening.

This is a prerelease intended for validation before the final v2.0.0 release. Please report regressions through the issue tracker.

Highlights

Search and retrieval

  • Added deterministic composite search reranking using pinned, recency, and revision-stability signals while preserving lexical BM25 dominance (#958, #1148).
  • Exposed the existing all/any search semantics through engram search --match (#861, #1124).

Cloud and sync

  • Added progress reporting for Cloud imports, including local, remote, and pending counts (#984, #1147).
  • Added Cloud inbox foundations: a reserved sync target, telemetry exclusion, and closed-space diagnostics (#1091, #1098).
  • Made rejected Cloud mutations identifiable and observable without exposing payload contents (#779, #1146).
  • Added cloud unenroll and cloud config --clear, with accurate effective configuration status (#1114, #1130).

MCP, plugins, and runtime reliability

  • Bounded complete mem_context responses, including Unicode, tiny-budget, and no-context edge cases (#1039, #1074).
  • Added a non-blocking warning when mem_save content contains absolute filesystem paths (#1087, #1143).
  • Isolated managed server instances by data directory, preventing duplicate startup and cross-user attachment on the shared port (#1100, #1120, #1127).
  • Restored deferred memory-tool exposure for Claude and added SessionEnd cleanup (#1077, #1139, #1132).
  • Extended the SQLite write-retry window for transient contention (#1129).

Repository governance

  • Added trusted-base checks that reject transient development artifacts in pull requests (#1093, #1128).
  • Defined and enforced a canonical issue and pull-request label taxonomy (#1115, #1137).

Known limitations before stable

  • Sync-journal repair and false-success diagnostics remain open in #1026 and #1104.
  • #1142 still requires deployment/request evidence before an Engram-side fix can be confirmed.
  • #886 remains paused pending host-side process evidence.
  • #1013 remains open; this RC includes its Cloud inbox foundation slice, not the complete feature.
