This release candidate focuses on sync integrity, agent lifecycle reliability, safer Cloud behavior, and more complete MCP and plugin contracts.

This is a prerelease intended for validation before the final v2.0.0 release. Please report regressions through the issue tracker.

Highlights

Sync and data integrity

• Prevented unenrolled projects from accumulating an unpushable Cloud journal backlog.
• Coalesced pending session upserts and repaired foreign sync targets.
• Hard-deleted soft-deleted observations when required by the sync lifecycle.
• Scoped pulled relation endpoints by project and hardened relation handling across replicas.
• Prevented Unicode topic-key collisions.

Agent and runtime reliability

• Closed OpenCode sub-agent and misregistered sessions across lifecycle signals.
• Propagated confirmed Codex runtime session identity and made Windows shell hooks non-interactive.
• Closed Pi sessions on shutdown and prevented cross-project session writes.
• Made MCP exit gracefully when its parent pipe closes and terminate Windows workers with their parent.
• Added diagnostics for ambiguous active sessions and improved manual-session target selection.

Cloud and transport safety

• Recovered stranded bootstrap tokens.
• Rejected non-UTF-8 mutation payloads.
• Audited denied authentication attempts.
• Accepted gzip mutation pushes regardless of Content-Type.

CLI, MCP, and plugin contracts

• Added engram init for ambiguous workspaces.
• Reported save truncation and skipped update checks during doctor.
• Included non-empty topic_key values in normal and compact MCP search results.
• Advanced the Claude hook package version identity so existing installs can receive the SessionStart fix.

Known limitations before stable

• Older pulled upserts can still resurrect deleted entities when they bypass the tombstone sequence floor (#1197).
• Dependency-safe import and pull still have unresolved hard-stop cases (#1135, #1166).
• Large Windows databases can still trigger an indefinitely running sync, and concurrent agents can still encounter SQLite lock failures (#1175, #1182).
• Claude Code hook setup does not yet enforce every external hook dependency (#1133).
• CLI project parsing and release-install detection still have open edge cases (#1205, #1194).
• Organization propagation through passive capture remains incomplete (#1152).

Release assets include Linux, macOS, and Windows archives for amd64 and arm64. Verify downloads with checksums.txt.
