gentle-pi v2.1.2

A focused compatibility hotfix for the package-local Gentle AI v2.2.2 runtime. Compact review authority inventories now decode successfully instead of collapsing every wrapper operation behind native-status-unavailable.

Highlights

  • Compact authority status accepts the provider's snapshot identity (#253): the strict authority-entry decoder now admits the snapshot_identity field emitted by Gentle AI v2.2.2 for compact-v2 entries, validates its canonical sha256:<64 lowercase hex> form, and retains it as snapshotIdentity alongside revision and chain identity. This restores wrapper inspect, finalize, and validate flows that previously failed before status decoding completed.
  • Strictness remains intact: malformed snapshot identities and arbitrary unknown authority-entry fields still fail closed. The compatibility fix expands one exact provider field rather than weakening object-shape enforcement.
  • Source and packaged runtime stay identical: the checked-in runtime mirror was regenerated from TypeScript, and the regression exercises a realistic v2.2.2 compact authority entry.

Upgrade notes

  • Install with pi install npm:gentle-pi@2.1.2.
  • This release retains the stable package-local Gentle AI v2.2.2 pin and its existing immutable assets, checksums, and contract artifacts.
  • Users who patched lib/native-review-cli.ts and runtime/native-review-cli.mjs locally should reinstall the package instead of preserving those manual edits.
  • RDD remains an unstable development line. The standing fallback for normal use without native RDD is pi install npm:gentle-pi@0.14.0.

Verification

  • Exact release SHA 3b6b3d2183dbbc4d45b16a1a0f127728c0a2435c passed CI run 30586388774: 971 tests, 970 passing, zero failures, and one expected Windows-only skip.
  • Package verification passed with 129 required files and 64 exact byte-identical v2.2.2 contract artifacts.
  • Packed installation loaded gentle-pi 2.1.2 with Gentle AI 2.2.2 and passed all 13 runner states.
  • The release review disposition is disabled/unmanaged: the maintainer's global RDD switch remained off, so no review receipt was issued, validated, or implied.

Deferred

  • Current Gentle AI main parity, including #2058 and #2060, remains a separate follow-up after a stable upstream release exists.
