Changed

  • npm publish via trusted publishing (OIDC) — The GitHub Actions release workflow now authenticates to npm with per-job OIDC credentials instead of an NPM_TOKEN secret, avoiding the OTP/token issues that broke the v1.2.18 automated publish (npm is phasing out token-based publishing)
  • Upgraded release workflow actions — actions/checkout and actions/setup-node bumped to their latest major versions in .github/workflows/publish.yml

Removed

  • /are-init assistant command — Completed the removal started in v1.2.15 (auto-initialize during install): the init command template is no longer generated for any runtime, the /are-help reference and README no longer document it, and the init entries were dropped from the Claude permissions allowlist and Codex prefix rules. The are init CLI command remains available as a low-level escape hatch
  • Legacy are-init cleanup on install/uninstall — New removeLegacyCommandFiles() in the installer deletes stale are-init command files left behind by older installations (.claude/skills/are-init/, .agents/skills/are-init/, .opencode/commands/are-init.md, .gemini/commands/are-init.toml) during both install (upgrade) and uninstall
