Spool Studio v3.0.1 Beta
This is a beta / test release for the Paxx12 SpoolLink workflow. It is intended for testing with current Paxx12 1.5.x beta firmware and Spoolman integration. The latest stable release for the older workflow remains v2.0.4.
Tested with Paxx12 Extended Firmware v1.5.2-paxx12-21 beta / PR #567 during development. Because the firmware and web UI are still changing, differences between Spool Studio, Fluidd / firmware UI, and the Spoolman web interface may still exist.
Changes since v3.0.0 beta
- Restored manual toolhead spool assignment for the SpoolLink toolhead status view.
- Added a dark styled spool assignment dialog with searchable spool selection.
- Added material information to spool assignment dropdown entries.
- Added spool IDs to spool dropdown list entries while keeping the selected value clean.
- Improved toolhead status card layout and edit affordance.
- Reduced success-message noise after manual toolhead assignment; the refreshed status is now the main feedback.
- Improved Paxx12 SpoolLink / Moonraker assignment command handling and verification.
Important notes
- v3 writes only the new Paxx12 SpoolLink compatible tag format.
- Old Spool Studio / spool-id based tags can be detected and converted after confirmation.
- Manual toolhead assignments can be replaced by the firmware when an RFID tag is read for that toolhead.
- Please test with one spool first before converting a larger spool collection.
Recommended test flow
- Update the Paxx12 firmware to a compatible 1.5.x beta build.
- Enable Spoolman integration in the printer firmware.
- Test Spoolman and Moonraker / firmware readiness in Spool Studio settings.
- Read one existing tag.
- Convert or write one tag.
- Check the result in Spoolman, Spool Studio, and the printer / Fluidd UI.
- Continue with additional spools only after the first test is correct.
