SB 500 - new user

First of all, thank you for the work done here.
I am trying to setup a SB500 - without a password. I did a factory reset and used 'admin' as the password. I seem to get past the initial stages but running into an error when I start a stream from VLC. I am using the HDMI port for video. Here is the output from the log. Any help is appreciated.

VLC on IOS is a buggy piece of poo. But you've posted your question on the SlingerPlayer project. Sorry but there is no IOS version of SlingerPlayer. So you need to try some other player. There's plenty of discussion about other IOS options on the slinger github site.

Just for fun, try setting maxstreams to 1. (Default is 10)

Changing maxstreams to 1 did not help. Same error.
I will install a different player and try.

Can I assume you rebooted your slingbox as suggested in the logs. Power it off completely and plug it back in.

Yes - I rebooted the box. Making some progress. I connected a tv to see the sb menu. Looks like it updated its firmware.
I now do not get that error but get a new error now - unable to read video stream.
When I connect the sb to a tv, I do see the stream but in the player it is not working. Using MKPlayer on macos.
