Release list
v1.4.1 — Razer Deathadder Jacket
Main change in 1.4.1
- Added support for the Razer Deathadder Jacket.
The supported item list now contains 14 cosmetics plus Pickpocket's Tool charm.
The repository owner tested the Windows build and confirmed it works as expected on October 1, 2026, using game file version 0.564.208.5. Linux v1.4.1 compiled successfully; execution, Epic/WGS in-game behavior and cloud persistence remain unconfirmed.
Xbox WGS support is credited to hdfyeg35.
Install or upgrade
Close the game and let synchronization finish. Replace the old patcher with the executable for your operating system and run it beside the actual saves.
- Steam on Windows:
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\. - Steam on Linux:
<Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/3669870/remote/. Runchmod +x CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64, then./CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64in that folder. - Epic Games on Windows: open
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Remedy\CONTROLResonant\<account-id>\<slot-folder>\(reported slot:slot-1). The account folder name varies. Place the patcher inside the slot folder, beside the matching-header.chunk,-persi-global.chunk,-player.chunkand-bundle-container.chunkfiles; preserve extensions and--containerDisplayName.chunk. Press Win+R and enter%LOCALAPPDATA%\Remedy\CONTROLResonantto open the base folder. Placeholders are not literal folder names. - Xbox app / Microsoft Store on Windows: place the EXE beside
containers.indexin the account folder under%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Remedy.CONTROLResonant_*\SystemAppData\wgs\.
Use --check to inspect without editing. Linux includes .NET 8.0.31; no separate .NET installation or Wine is needed.
Before editing, the patcher backs up all recognized saves/preferences in its folder; WGS backups include every indexed container and its metadata. Only the newest save set is patched. Backup membership and SHA-256 checks must pass. To undo, close the game and restore all files listed in a COMPLETE backup to their recorded paths; first keep a separate recovery copy if newer saves exist. Do not copy RESTORE.txt into the save folder.
The game may re-add applied-entitlement markers for recognized grants. A later patcher run can remove those markers and make another backup without adding visible items. You do not need to rerun it after every session while the desired items remain available.
See the README for full instructions and backup boundaries. SHA256SUMS.txt identifies the release artifacts.
Known issues
Map-opening and autosave stuttering
Steam/Windows users reported stuttering when opening the map and during autosaves. Users in issue #3 confirmed that moving the backup folder and patcher EXE out of the save directory resolved it for them.
SonOfSaris identified the workaround. Stonga2 reported the issue, and krizz02 confirmed the workaround resolved map and autosave stuttering.
Workaround: after patching finishes, close the patcher and move the CosmeticSaveBackup-... folder(s) and CosmeticSavePatcher.exe to another location outside the game's save directory before starting the game. Keep the backup folders intact so you can restore your saves if needed. Leave the actual save files, preferences and WGS metadata in place.
The original reporter also confirmed that moving the backup saves alone fixed their issue. These are user-confirmed workarounds; the exact scanning or synchronization mechanism has not been established, and results on other platforms are unconfirmed.

v1.4.0 — Epic support and whole-save backups
New in 1.4.0
- Adds Epic Games
.chunksave support, preserving original filenames and container-name metadata. - Supports Steam, Epic and Xbox app / Microsoft Store WGS save layouts. Only the newest save set is patched.
- Backs up all recognized save files and preferences in the selected folder, plus all files in every indexed WGS container and its metadata. Previous backup folders and patcher files are excluded; other accounts and unindexed WGS directories are outside the backup scope.
- Checks backup membership and SHA-256 hashes before applying changes. Incomplete backups stop the patch.
- Keeps the same 13 cosmetics plus Pickpocket's Tool charm.
- Includes the exact full-backup Windows and Linux x64 builds prepared for this version. Linux bundles .NET 8.0.31.
Xbox WGS file support is credited to hdfyeg35, whose contribution remains in the repository history.
Observed behavior and confirmation status
A user-run Windows/Steam v1.4.0 result was inspected. All 70 original save/preferences files were backed up exactly. Only the latest header changed: seven applied-entitlement records were removed and its checksum updated. All 14 supported unlock flags were already enabled, so no new visible items were expected. This establishes that header cleanup and backup operation, not a fresh unlock test.
Both builds compiled successfully. Epic/WGS in-game behavior, cloud persistence and Linux v1.4.0 execution remain unconfirmed. Earlier Windows v1.2.0 unlock confirmation and the Linux execution report in issue #2 concern earlier builds.
Why entitlement entries can return
The removal count describes applied-grant markers, not additional items. The game can re-add markers for recognized grants after loading/saving. Version 1.4.0 can therefore remove them again and create a new backup while leaving all cosmetic flags unchanged. The owner observed seven returning markers. This known behavior is unchanged in the published build; there is no demonstrated benefit from repeatedly removing those markers while the grants remain recognized. You do not need to rerun the patcher after every session if the desired items are still available.
Install or upgrade
Close the game and let synchronization finish. Replace the old patcher with the executable for your operating system.
- Steam on Windows: put
CosmeticSavePatcher.exein<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\. - Steam on Linux: put
CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64in<Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/3669870/remote/. Open a terminal there and runchmod +x CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64, then./CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64. - Epic Games: put the patcher beside the actual matching
-header.chunk,-persi-global.chunk,-player.chunk, and-bundle-container.chunkfiles. Keep their filenames and--containerDisplayName.chunk. Windows uses the EXE; Linux uses the commands above. - Xbox app / Microsoft Store on Windows: open the account folder containing
containers.indexunder%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Remedy.CONTROLResonant_*\SystemAppData\wgs\and place the EXE directly beside the index.
Use --check to inspect without editing. An incomplete newest save or ambiguous filenames stop processing. No backup is created during --check or when no changes are required.
To undo, close the game and restore all files listed in a COMPLETE backup to their recorded paths. Restoring the entire backup rolls all included saves/preferences back to that point. If newer data exists, first move it to a separate recovery folder so it is not mixed with the backup. Do not copy RESTORE.txt into the save folder.
See the README for complete instructions and backup boundaries. SHA256SUMS.txt covers both executables and the included instructions/runtime notices.

v1.3.0 — Xbox WGS support
New in 1.3.0
- Adds Xbox app / Microsoft Store WGS file support, contributed by hdfyeg35. Their original contribution is preserved in the repository history.
- Resolves save names through
containers.indexandcontainer.N, using the existing newest-save selection and 14-item patch logic. - Rechecks complete metadata snapshots before writing, including patches that do not change file sizes.
- Rejects linked parent directories, duplicate blob mappings, and ambiguous GUID references.
- Backs up the four selected save blobs plus the index and selected container metadata, preserving their relative paths for recovery.
- Includes Windows and Linux x64 executables. Linux bundles .NET 8.0.31.
Compatibility status
Both v1.3.0 builds compiled successfully, but v1.3.0 has not yet been runtime-tested. WGS in-game behavior and Xbox cloud synchronization remain unconfirmed. Earlier Windows v1.2.0 in-game confirmation and the Linux execution report in issue #2 apply to v1.2.0 flat saves.
WGS accepts index version 14 and container metadata version 4. The Xbox app WGS workflow is intended for Windows. Linux targets x64 with glibc.
Install or upgrade
Close the game. Replace the old patcher with the download for your operating system.
Steam saves: place the patcher beside the four matching save files, inside:
- Windows:
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\ - Linux:
<Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/3669870/remote/
On Windows, run CosmeticSavePatcher.exe. On Linux, open a terminal in that folder, run chmod +x CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64, then ./CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64.
Xbox app / Microsoft Store: let synchronization finish and keep a full copy of your WGS account folder. Under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Remedy.CONTROLResonant_*\SystemAppData\wgs\, open the account folder containing containers.index. Place CosmeticSavePatcher.exe directly beside that index. Run .\CosmeticSavePatcher.exe --check first, then run normally to patch.
Backups are automatic. To undo a WGS patch, restore every backed-up file, including metadata, before further saves or synchronization advance the store. Keep the full account-folder copy for recovery after later changes.
See the README for complete instructions and WGS documentation for supported layouts and limitations. SHA256SUMS.txt covers both executables, the standalone instructions, and runtime notices.

v1.2.0 — Preorder and promotional rewards
New in 1.2.0
- Adds the two mailing-promotion items, three Sierra Twitch drops, and MIO Specialist's Robe.
- Restores 14 item flags: 13 cosmetics and the Pickpocket's Tool charm.
- Extends applied-entitlement cleanup to the added promotions and PC preorder.
- Retains automatic backups, newest-save selection, checksum handling, and
--check.
Windows v1.2.0 was tested and confirmed working on the current game version by the repository owner on September 27, 2026. The analyzed game executable version is 0.563.737.9.
The Linux x64 build uses the same source and includes .NET 8.0.31. A Linux user reported successful execution from the Steam userdata save folder in issue #2. The report does not specify a distribution or confirm Steam Deck compatibility or in-game results.

Install or upgrade
Close the game. Replace the old patcher with CosmeticSavePatcher.exe (Windows) or CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64 (Linux), placed beside the actual save files. Run it, then load the patched save with the original game executable. Equip cosmetics from the menu.
Windows save folder: <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\.
Linux/Proton save folder: <Steam-folder>/userdata/<user-id>/3669870/remote/. <Steam-folder> is the Steam client folder containing userdata; it may differ from the game installation library. <user-id> is your numbered Steam account folder. Place the patcher inside remote, beside the matching -header, -persi-global, -player, and -bundle-container files. Run chmod +x CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64, then ./CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64.
See the README for full instructions, backups, and compatibility. SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for both executables and the included documentation.
v1.1.0 — Cap and sunglasses support
New in 1.1.0
- Adds the additional baseball cap and sunglasses alongside the existing preorder cosmetics.
- Restores all eight known cosmetic flags, including missing flags, and removes the three associated applied-entitlement entries when present.
- Preserves your equipped outfit when only the new cap/sunglasses flags are added.
- Keeps automatic backups, checksum handling, newest-save selection, and the read-only
--checkoption. - Now includes a standalone Linux x64 executable with .NET 8.0.31 included.
The Windows build was tested and confirmed working on the current game version by the repository owner on September 27, 2026. The Linux build uses the same patching logic and compiled successfully, but has not yet been run on Linux or verified in game on Linux/Steam Deck.
Windows
Close the game and put CosmeticSavePatcher.exe beside your saves, replacing the old patcher if present:
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\
Double-click the patcher, then load the patched save using the original game executable. Windows 10/11's .NET Framework is used; no Python or installer is required.
Linux x64
Close the game completely. Open this Linux location:
<SteamLibrary-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/3669870/pfx/
<SteamLibrary-folder> is the Steam library where the game is installed. The pfx folder is the game's Windows environment under Proton; save folders can be nested inside it. Find the folder containing files ending in -header, -persi-global, -player, and -bundle-container (search inside pfx for *-header). Download CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64 and place it beside those files. The patcher does not search subfolders.
Open a terminal in the folder containing the patcher and actual save files, then run:
chmod +x CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64
./CosmeticSavePatcher-linux-x64Read the result and press Enter to close. Start the game normally and load the patched save. Only the one executable is needed; no separate .NET installation or Wine is required. This build targets x64 Linux with glibc, not ARM or Alpine/musl.
<Steam-folder> means Steam's data folder containing userdata; <user-id> is your numbered account folder. Equip the new cosmetics from the menu. No experimental game EXE is needed. See the repository README for save selection, compatibility, and backup instructions.
Source and checksums
The original v1.1.0 tag and Windows executable are unchanged. The automatic source archives reflect the original Windows release. For the added Linux project, use the Linux build source. The .NET runtime license and notices are included in the repository and embedded in the Linux executable.

v1.0.0 — Windows release
Download CosmeticSavePatcher.exe below and place it in your Steam save folder:
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3669870\remote\
<Steam-folder> is your Steam installation folder; <user-id> is your numbered account folder inside userdata. Close the game, then double-click the patcher. It selects the newest save by its embedded date and creates a backup before editing.
Requires Windows with .NET Framework (included with Windows 10/11). No Python or installer is needed. See the repository README for usage and supported formats.
Tested and confirmed working on the current game version, as reported by the repository owner on September 26, 2026.
