gilvt 0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 15 Oct 00:52

Added

  • Claude Code / Codex started by another program in a gilvt pane — ttadk claude, ttadk codex, a script, a Makefile — is recognized like one you type: gilvt puts small shims for the agent commands first on the pane's PATH (only inside gilvt; no global config is changed). Calls whose input or output is not the terminal (claude -p … | cat) are left alone.
  • When an agent in a pane could only be followed in lite mode because a wrapper bypassed gilvt (for example ttadk with Claude Code installed in ~/.local/bin), or because the command you typed is not in the agent's command list, the inspector says why and offers a fix: copy the line for the wrapper's config, or add the command with one click.
  • Settings (⌘,) has an Agent page: the command names gilvt recognizes for Claude Code and Codex, the command ⌘⇧N / ⌘⇧R type (e.g. ttadk claude), and where each name resolves — with a warning when ttadk would bypass gilvt.
  • ⌘-clicking a file name in the inspector timeline of a session running on an ssh host opens that host's file in Quick Look (it used to say "Not available for remote panes yet").

Changed

  • [agent] claude_launch / codex_launch may now include arguments, e.g. claude_launch = "ttadk claude": new and resumed sessions (⌘⇧N, ⌘⇧R) are typed as ttadk claude …. Only the first word must be a plain command name; a value with a space used to fall back to the default.

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 14 Oct 18:51

Fixed

  • After a program that turned on mouse reporting died without turning it off (for example an ssh connection that dropped while Claude Code ran on the remote host), moving the mouse no longer types escape codes into the shell: gilvt's shell integration turns mouse reporting, focus reporting and the kitty keyboard flags off before each prompt (fish: mouse reporting only; fish manages the others itself).
  • gilvt ssh to a host with LocalForward / RemoteForward (or -L / -R) no longer prints "bind: Address already in use" for every forwarding: the shared connection holds them, and the login, the remote helper's bridge and gilvt's own commands through it no longer ask for them again.

gilvt 0.4.0

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 14 Oct 17:38

Added

  • gilvt ssh works with Apple Silicon Macs as remote hosts, with the same features as Linux hosts: the remote helper installs (and asks before updating), agents in the remote shell show up in the sidebar, and gilvt view / gilvt diff, ⌘-click and editing work on the Mac's files. Intel Macs log in the plain way with a note.

Changed

  • The question to install or update the remote helper shows its real size instead of "about 4 MB".
  • For an unsupported host the note names its system ("the remote host runs , not supported yet") instead of "not Linux".
  • On a host whose git cannot run (a Mac without the Command Line Tools), gilvt diff says so and suggests xcode-select --install.

gilvt 0.3.0

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 13 Oct 22:26

Added

  • SSH: claude and codex running in the remote shell of a gilvt ssh pane now appear in the sidebar like local
    ones: status, tab dots, notifications and jumping to an approval (⇧⌘J), the close confirmation, the
    inspector's timeline, and the sessions palette (⇧⌘R) with the remote host's history and resuming there.
    Agents inside remote tmux are not detected yet.
  • SSH: in a gilvt ssh pane, gilvt view, gilvt diff and ⌘-click on a path preview the remote host's files in
    gilvt (a pinned preview follows changes on the host), and the built-in editor opens and saves them: a file changed
    on the host since it was opened brings up the usual reload / compare / overwrite bar, and saving while the
    connection is down keeps your changes unsaved and says so; changes made on the host while the connection was down
    are picked up when it comes back. The editor's header names the host (devbox:~/repo/src). A path that does not
    exist on the host says so, and one the host cannot look at (permission denied) says why.

Changed

  • SSH: after gilvt is upgraded, the first connection to a host that has an older remote helper installed now asks
    before updating it (it used to update silently); answer n to log in plain this time, N to never install
    on that host. [remote] install = "always" still updates without asking.

Fixed

  • gilvt view --help and gilvt diff --help print the usage instead of failing with an unknown option.

gilvt 0.2.1

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 09 Oct 23:03

Fixed

  • The English interface no longer shows Chinese: notifications, the close and quit confirmation, the
    terminal find bar, the file finder, previews, the editor's messages, the sessions palette, the inspector's
    configuration cards, theme warnings, the monitor's chat, cards and connection test, and what gilvt ssh prints
    in the terminal (the install question and why it logs in the plain way) were still in Chinese.
  • In English, the monitor's chat answers and its ✦ summaries are written in English, and the quick questions
    send English.
  • The New Agent panel showed its ⌘1 / ⌘2 hint twice, and monitor cards in English read "took" in Chinese.

Install

  • Download: https://gilvt.com/download, or brew install --cask gilvt-wtj/gilvt/gilvt. Signed and notarized, universal (Apple silicon + Intel), macOS 11 or later.
  • Installed copies update themselves.

SHA-256 (Gilvt-0.2.1.dmg): bc387ab69188b4ade0769c858e762bf128e6332198ffc8db0ebb5dcd067fadda

gilvt 0.2.0

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 09 Oct 18:09

Added

  • Homebrew: brew install --cask gilvt-wtj/gilvt/gilvt installs gilvt and links the gilvt command.
  • ⌘⇧T (View → Move Pane to New Tab / Back) moves the focused pane, terminals included, out of its split
    into a tab of its own; pressing it again in that tab puts the pane back where it was.
  • SSH: ssh to a Linux host from a gilvt pane installs a small remote helper (after asking once per host,
    or per [remote] install), loads gilvt's shell integration there, and shows the remote host and
    directory; files you ⌘-click or search in an ssh pane are no longer looked up on the Mac. Agent
    detection and remote file editing follow in later releases. Bypass with command ssh or GILVT_SSH=0.

Changed

  • The interface language now follows macOS when config.toml has no language key: Simplified Chinese
    when the Mac's first preferred language is Chinese, English otherwise. It used to always default to
    Simplified Chinese. Setting language (or picking one in Settings → Language) still overrides it.
  • Website: added canonical and bilingual search metadata, an automatically generated sitemap,
    structured application data, focused coding-agent guides, Claude Code / Codex integration pages,
    and a build-time SEO and local-link check.

@Gilvt-WTJ Gilvt-WTJ released this 08 Oct 21:45

First public release.

Added

  • Terminal: tabs, splits, true color, Kitty keyboard protocol, input methods, search, scrollback up to
    1,000,000 lines, shell integration for zsh / bash / fish (current directory and command marks), and
    workspace restore after quit or crash.
  • Agent awareness for Claude Code and Codex: sidebar with every session and a "needs you" group, colored
    pane borders and tab dots, ⌘⇧J to cycle waiting sessions, system notifications and Dock badge.
  • Inspector: per-turn timeline (commands, edits, TODOs, sub-agents, failures) with jump-to-terminal, per-turn
    artifacts with a "this turn" diff, and a read-only summary of the agent's effective configuration.
  • Session management: Session Center (⌘⇧R) to search, resume, rename, archive and clean up sessions,
    offline review queue, new agent launcher (⌘⇧N) with optional git worktree, detection of sessions in
    other terminal apps, and opt-in global hooks (gilvt integrate).
  • Monitor (⌘⇧O): activity view of all sessions and terminals; optional AI summaries, read-only chat,
    a bottom command bar and a read-only MCP server (gilvt mcp) using the local claude / codex CLI.
  • Quick Look for code, diffs, Markdown and Mermaid; ⌘P file search; the gilvt CLI (view, diff).
  • Built-in editor with syntax highlighting, safe saving and live preview.
  • Interface language: Simplified Chinese (default) or English, switchable live in Settings → Language
    or with language in config.toml.
  • Themes: 725 built-in themes plus user themes, light / dark pairs, and an Appearance page
    in the settings window (⌘,); settings are written back to config.toml with comments preserved.
  • Automatic updates (Sparkle) for the downloaded app: checks release.gilvt.com in the background,
    downloads, and installs when you quit gilvt, so running agents are never interrupted; "Check for
    Updates…" in the app menu, and [update] mode = "download" | "check" | "off" in config.toml.
