Mallard v1.0.0
Mallard 1.0 is here: our first official release.
Your code travels with Git. Your Codex and Claude Code sessions travel with Mallard. Push the conversations behind your work, then pull them on another computer or share them with a teammate. They can read them or pick up where you left off.

- Which Mac do I have? Open Apple menu › About This Mac. If it lists an Apple M chip, use Apple Silicon. If it lists an Intel processor, use Intel.
- macOS needs version 12 (Monterey) or newer. Both DMGs are Developer ID signed and notarized, so they open without a security override.
- Windows installer is not code-signed yet. If SmartScreen warns you, choose More info › Run anyway.
Already on 0.1.x? Mallard offers 1.0.0 as an in-app update. Click Update on the version mark in the sidebar.
What Mallard does
Push and pull agent sessions
- Push a project's Codex and Claude Code sessions, from the terminal or the desktop apps, then pull them anywhere.
- Every Push and Pull opens a review first. You tick exactly which sessions move.
- A Pull applies the version you reviewed, backs up anything it replaces, and keeps a receipt.
See the "why" behind each commit
- Sessions are mapped onto a branch's commit history. A reviewer sees the diff and the chat that produced it side by side.
- Session detail shows previews and metrics (time, turns, tokens, tool calls) and renders Claude's SVG widgets.
- Start a New session in a project, in Terminal or in the agent's desktop app.
Git projects and plain folders
- In a Git project, your code keeps travelling through Git and Mallard moves only the sessions.
- In a folder without Git, you can tick files to travel along with the sessions.
Storage you choose
- Mallard Cloud: sign in with GitHub. Repositories are private and you invite collaborators. A website shows the sessions you release.
- A local or mounted folder, Cloudflare R2, or Dropbox. No Git server is needed.
- Pushes only add data. Every file is verified by SHA-256, and a version exists only once its final record lands.
Library: skills, plugins, and pets
- Push and pull Codex and Claude skills, plugin installs, and Codex desktop pets with the same review flow.
Open from the web
- Open in Mallard and Pull in Mallard on mallard-ai.com open the matching project or review in the app. Nothing moves until you confirm.
Your data stays yours
- You review and select everything before it is transferred.
- Storage credentials stay on your computer. Sign-ins, backups, and logs never go to storage.
- Turn on Credential redaction in Settings › Privacy to hide detected keys in chats.
- Mallard Cloud uploads are private to you and the people you invite.
Also in 1.0
- In-app updates download in the background. You can turn them off in Settings › Privacy.
- The interface is available in English and 简体中文.
- Codex sessions saved in compressed form (
.jsonl.zst) are read like any other session.
Before you start
- Install Git, plus the Codex CLI and/or Claude Code.
- macOS: the first Open in Terminal asks for Automation permission. Allow it.
- Windows: install Windows Terminal with its
wt.exealias enabled. CLI actions open in Windows PowerShell. - Codex desktop app users: install the Codex CLI separately. If Mallard picks up the app's internal binary, choose your CLI under Settings › Agent CLIs.

Mallard v0.1.9
Apple Silicon and Intel macOS DMGs (Developer ID signed and notarized), an x64 Windows installer (unsigned), and the signed updater archives and latest.json that let installed copies update in-app. Verify every artifact before publishing this draft; publishing is what makes the update visible to users.
Mallard v0.1.7
Apple Silicon and Intel macOS DMGs (Developer ID signed and notarized), an x64 Windows installer (unsigned), and the signed updater archives and latest.json that let installed copies update in-app. Verify every artifact before publishing this draft; publishing is what makes the update visible to users.
Mallard v0.1.6
Apple Silicon and Intel macOS DMGs (Developer ID signed and notarized), an x64 Windows installer (unsigned), and the signed updater archives and latest.json that let installed copies update in-app. Verify every artifact before publishing this draft; publishing is what makes the update visible to users.
Mallard v0.1.5
Adds Mallard Cloud and Feishu Drive storage, a Cloud project import, and a
new publication protocol that makes simultaneous pushes from two computers
safe on every storage.
What's new
- Mallard Cloud. Sign in with GitHub to keep private snapshots, invite
collaborators, and show released sessions and Library items on the web.
Mallard Cloud uses the same publication protocol as R2, including claims. - Get a project from Mallard Cloud. Add project › From Mallard Cloud
looks up a repository by its page address. It then clones it into a new
folder or connects a folder you already have. Nothing is pulled until you
choose Pull. - Feishu Drive storage. Your organization's Feishu admin installs
Mallard's app once. After that, Connect Feishu signs you in from a
browser, and no keys are typed. Sign-in and transfers go directly between
your computer and Feishu. The storage page shows when Feishu requires a new
sign-in. - Removed repositories and discarded drafts. A Mallard Cloud repository
removed on the website reads as empty, and the next Push creates it again
at the same address. The Owner of a public repository can discard its draft
from the Mallard Cloud chip. - Easier Add project. Type or paste a folder path, pick one under Where
your agents have worked, or use Browse…. - Quieter updates. New releases download in the background. Update in
the sidebar's version mark restarts into one, and quitting installs it for
the next launch.
Safer sync between computers
- No compare-and-swap. A storage now needs only write, read, and list.
Each Push writes immutable objects and publishes a record last, and every
computer selects the same current version from those records. - Pushes that did not finish. On R2, Dropbox, and Mallard Cloud, a Push
claims the version it builds on before it publishes. If a Push claimed a
version and stopped, the next Push onto that version says so, and the Push
review offers Finish that push. Mallard never retries or finishes one
by itself. - Pull applies what you reviewed. A version pushed after your review no
longer blocks the Pull; it shows up afterwards as changes to pull. If the
storage becomes unreadable partway through, the Pull stops, keeps what it
installed, and marks the rest Not pulled. - Recovery is up to you. A storage cleared by another computer, or a Push
that another computer's record outranked, is reported. Nothing is rolled
back, unlinked, or reset. The activity page says whether to push again or
pull first. - Library. A Library link whose accepted state belongs to another storage
now loads, and the next Push or Pull saves a fresh one. Before this fix, the
page could not be unlinked or removed.
Changed defaults
- Push Codex children and Push Claude children (Settings › Sync) now
default to Off.

| macOS (Intel) | Mallard_0.1.5_x64.dmg |
| Windows x64 | Mallard_0.1.5_x64-setup.exe |
The .app.tar.gz files and latest.json are for the in-app updater and are
not meant to be installed by hand.
macOS
Both DMGs are Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled, so they
open without a Gatekeeper override. macOS 12 or later. The first Open in
Terminal or Codex App refresh asks for Automation permission; allow it.
Windows
The installer is not yet code signed, so SmartScreen shows a warning on first
run: choose More info › Run anyway. It installs for the current user and
needs no administrator rights.
Updating
Copies on 0.1.3 or 0.1.4 find this release on their own. Every updater
archive is signed, and the app verifies that signature before installing.
Automatic updates can be turned off under Settings › Privacy, where
Check for updates always works.
