CataSync 2.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 20:18

The whole product sheet editable from the Warehouse, and a read-only Customer profile for clients.

Highlights

  • Product sheet: in the Warehouse, Edit (or a click on the name) opens the product as it is on the site — name, status, brand, SKU, EAN, price and sale price, stock, categories, photos, short description, description and specifications. Save to the site sends only what changed.
  • Photos: reorder, remove, add by address or upload from the computer (JPG, PNG, WebP up to 8 MB; needs PUBLIC_URL, since the site downloads the file from the portal).
  • Descriptions with a simple editor (bold, italics, subheadings, lists, links) or in HTML, cleaned before being written to the site. Descriptions holding videos, embeds or forms are left to WordPress; texts are read as stored (context=edit), so shortcodes are kept.
  • Customer profile replaces the Shop tab: the client sees company details, logo, subscription (status, plan, expiry, monthly quota, whether publishing is allowed), connected sites and nightly update — read-only. The administrator edits everything, logo included, under Clients.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 19:44

A Warehouse tab to manage the products that are already on the shop, straight from the portal.

Highlights

  • Warehouse: categories on the left, their products on the right (subcategories included), search by name, SKU or EAN, pages of 15, 20, 30, 50 or 100.
  • Edit category and price of a product from the list; the change goes to the site at once.
  • Delete moves the product to the site's trash — WooCommerce's own, the same as Products → Trash in WordPress — so it disappears from the shop but can still be recovered.
  • Trash view: the site's trash, products trashed from WordPress included, with Restore (previous status and address), Delete permanently and Empty the trash. WordPress empties it by itself after EMPTY_TRASH_DAYS (30 by default); the portal takes the same number per shop to show the right dates.
  • The Guide is now three guides — products, warehouse, categories — with screenshots.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 19:19

A Guide tab with screenshots, so clients learn the portal from the portal itself.

Highlights

  • Guide tab: loading products in four steps, what each product status means and how to add, rename, order and delete categories, each with an example screenshot in Italian or English. The 📖 buttons on Products and Categories open the right section.
  • First-time invitation to the Guide at the top of Products. Once dismissed it stays dismissed: the portal stores it on the user, so it holds on every browser and device.
  • The old “How it works” panel moved from the Products page into the Guide.
  • While a search is running, the row now says “Sheet on its way…” instead of “Sheet not found”.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 18:58

Categories can now be renamed from CataSync, and subcategories are back.

Highlights

  • Rename in the Categories tab: edit the name in place (Enter saves, Esc cancels); it changes on the site and in the portal. The slug stays the same, so links to the category keep working, and an unsaved order is not lost.
  • Subcategories again: with “Inside” a new category is created inside another one, at the end of its siblings.
  • Category names with “&” no longer show up as “&”, and duplicate checks compare the real names.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 18:46

The Categories tab now does just three things: add, delete and reorder the shop's categories.

Changes

  • New categories are always main categories and go at the end of the list. The “Inside” choice is gone, and the API ignores a parent category too.
  • Site menu and Category mappings removed from the tab: CataSync no longer touches the site menu. The mu-plugin stays optional and is set up only on the site (Appearance → Menu categorie); mappings already saved keep working in imports.
  • Subcategories the site already has, made in WordPress, are still shown under their category; the delete confirmation and the note under the list mention subcategories only when there are some.
  • The message for a 403 from the menu mu-plugin no longer blames only the REST key: it also mentions a firewall or security plugin blocking the address.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 18:20

Shop categories can now be managed from CataSync, and an optional WordPress mu-plugin keeps them in the site menu.

Highlights

  • Categories tab: create categories (also inside another one), delete them and put them in order by dragging them or with the arrows. The order is WooCommerce's own (Products → Categories).
  • Deleting a category keeps its products on the site, moves its subcategories up one level and clears the portal's mappings to it.
  • New mu-plugin wordpress/catasync-category-menu.php (also downloadable from the Categories tab): every category, created in CataSync or on the site, goes under the menu item you choose, subcategories under their category, in the same order. Renames follow, deleted categories disappear, items added by hand stay after the categories.
  • The menu item is chosen in CataSync (Categories → Site menu) or on the site (Appearance → Menu categorie); the plugin uses the shop's WooCommerce REST key.
  • Every fixed text of the interface is now checked for its translation in the CI.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 22:19

Added

  • Guida: come nascono numeri e note delle release automatiche (docs/GUIDA.md, capitolo 14).
  • Release ritirate: i numeri elencati in docs/releases/ritirate.txt perdono release e tag al
    giro successivo del workflow.

Fixed

  • Release automatiche: [minor] e [major] contano solo nel titolo del commit. Letti anche nel
    resto del messaggio, avevano fatto uscire per errore una 3.0.0 al posto della 2.0.1 (ritirata).

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).

CataSync 2.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 22:12
1d08972

First public release of CataSync, the self-hosted portal that builds WooCommerce product sheets from an EAN or a manufacturer code.

Highlights

  • Web search through your own SearXNG: one to three spaced-out queries per code, in the language and country of the sheets, only to the engines that work on codes.
  • When the engines block (CAPTCHA, "too many requests"), the code is postponed and retried by itself instead of ending up "not found".
  • Friendly page reading: robots.txt respected, one request every 1.5 seconds per site, anti-bot protections recognised and skipped, never bypassed.
  • A Why? button on every miss: the queries, the engines that answered or blocked, the sites opened and what happened on each.
  • Only pages that state the code are trusted; category and search pages are recognised and the product link is followed.
  • Sheets in Italian, English, French, German or Spanish, translated with your own LibreTranslate; interface in Italian, English, French and German.
  • Publishing through the WooCommerce REST API: nothing to install on the shops, products already on the site are updated, never duplicated.
  • Portal name, logo and favicon uploadable from the panel; light and dark theme.

Installation: see the README (Docker Compose).
