Tauridium v0.1.13

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Oct 11:48

Added

  • Account-free local profile. Start from scratch without a Ferdium server;
    services and workspaces are stored on this device and use the Ferdium recipe
    catalog.
  • Collapsible service rail. Switch between compact service icons and an
    expanded sidebar with service names, workspaces, and account controls.
  • Custom services. Add any website as a service: type its name or address
    in the catalog filter and choose "Create … as a custom service". Uses
    Ferdium's Custom Website recipe, so it syncs with Ferdium accounts.
  • Favicon icons. "Use favicon as icon" now works: Tauridium fetches the
    site's favicon (preferring SVG or the largest size) and caches it.
    Custom services use it by default.

Changed

  • Load services on demand by default instead of preloading every enabled web
    app. Services already opened keep running for notifications.
  • Check recipe badges every five seconds and avoid sending unchanged unread
    counts to the shell.
  • Show capitalized service names in local mode ("Amazon Web Services",
    "WhatsApp") in the catalog and the rail; existing local services are renamed
    automatically unless you gave them a custom name.

Fixed

  • Linux: the AppImage could not start when mounted by another user (firejail,
    the AppImage catalog test): its launcher was packaged without execute
    permission for other users. Builds now use Tauri CLI 2.12, whose linuxdeploy
    packages it as 0755.

⚠️ macOS: builds are unsigned (no paid Apple Developer account),
so Gatekeeper blocks them on first launch. To open Tauridium:

  • macOS ≤ 14: right-click the app → Open → confirm, or
  • macOS 15+: try to open it, then System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Open Anyway, or
  • run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/Tauridium.app

Tauridium v0.1.12

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Sep 10:29

Fixed

  • Downloading a file from ChatGPT replaced the service with the file.
    Unlike Safari, WKWebView ignores Content-Disposition: attachment and renders
    the file inline whenever it knows the MIME type (PDF, images, text, CSV…), so
    the service page was swapped for the document with no way back. Such responses
    are now downloaded, and downloads keep the filename advertised by the server
    (ChatGPT's signed links end in file-…, with no extension).

Added

  • Navigation menu. "Back" (⌘[), "Forward" (⌘]) and "Back to Service"
    (⌘⇧H, reloads the service's own URL) — service webviews have no toolbar, so a
    page that replaces another one used to be a dead end.

⚠️ macOS: builds are unsigned (no paid Apple Developer account),
so Gatekeeper blocks them on first launch. To open Tauridium:

  • macOS ≤ 14: right-click the app → Open → confirm, or
  • macOS 15+: try to open it, then System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Open Anyway, or
  • run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/Tauridium.app

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Aug 12:16

Fixed

  • Linux: service webview covered the sidebar and only took half the height.
    On Linux, Tauri packs the main webview and every add_child service webview
    into the same GtkBox, which evenly splits its height between them and
    stretches each to the full width — hiding the sidebar and leaving the service
    short of the window bottom. Vendored wry now nests a shared GtkFixed inside
    the box so webviews can overlap and be positioned (matching macOS/Windows).

⚠️ macOS: builds are unsigned (no paid Apple Developer account),
so Gatekeeper blocks them on first launch. To open Tauridium:

  • macOS ≤ 14: right-click the app → Open → confirm, or
  • macOS 15+: try to open it, then System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Open Anyway, or
  • run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/Tauridium.app

Tauridium v0.1.10

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Jul 12:54

Fixed

  • Doubled keystrokes in Discord's channel search. On macOS, WKWebView
    dispatched two native textInput events per keystroke, so Draft.js-based
    fields (Discord's channel search) inserted every character twice. The
    duplicate is now de-duplicated (at most one insertion per keydown).
  • Doubled accented characters in Discord's message composer. Dead keys /
    IME composition (é, ê, à…) inserted the character twice in the Slate composer.
    The redundant legacy textInput is now neutralized in Slate editors only, so
    Draft.js accent input (search) keeps working.

Added

  • In-app downloads. Downloads triggered from within a service (e.g.
    WhatsApp's image download button, ChatGPT image downloads) now save to your
    Downloads folder, with a completion notification.
  • Developer Tools in release builds. "Toggle Developer Tools" (⌘⌥I) now
    works in the packaged app, not just in cargo tauri dev.

Known limitations

  • The native right-click "Download Image" context-menu item does not work:
    WKWebView handles it through an internal path that is not exposed to the app.
    Use a service's in-page download button instead.

⚠️ macOS: builds are unsigned (no paid Apple Developer account),
so Gatekeeper blocks them on first launch. To open Tauridium:

  • macOS ≤ 14: right-click the app → Open → confirm, or
  • macOS 15+: try to open it, then System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Open Anyway, or
  • run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/Tauridium.app

@github-actions github-actions released this 09 Jul 11:19

Fixed

  • Links in conversations are clickable again. target="_blank" links and
    window.open calls no longer responded to clicks on macOS. They now open in
    your default browser, while sign-in popups (sized OAuth windows) open in an
    in-app window so the session is preserved and the service webview stays in
    place.

⚠️ macOS: builds are unsigned (no paid Apple Developer account),
so Gatekeeper blocks them on first launch. To open Tauridium:

  • macOS ≤ 14: right-click the app → Open → confirm, or
  • macOS 15+: try to open it, then System Settings → Privacy &
    Security → Open Anyway, or
  • run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/Tauridium.app

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Jul 12:08

Added

  • Per-service dark mode via Dark Reader.
  • Reorder services by drag & drop, plus ⌘1–9 shortcuts to switch services.
  • Per-service loading / error indicator with retry.
  • Per-service "Clear cache", and data-store purge when a service is removed.
  • Auto-reconnect screen when the Ferdium server is unreachable.

Fixed

  • No longer signs out on reload after a transient network error.
  • Service-switch race condition.
  • Batch of robustness quick-wins from a code review.

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Jul 13:37

Fixed

  • Removing a workspace or service now uses a native dialog (the browser
    window.confirm does not work in WKWebView, so the confirmation was broken).

Changed

  • Warn about passkey / WebAuthn limitations under WKWebView (docs and UI).
