v0.2.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Sep 03:58

Changes since v0.2.5

Added

  • Add index --intermediate-dir to isolate per-task language publications and atomic sidecars from watched source roots. Existing output defaults, source identities, and atomic failure preservation remain unchanged.

Fixed

  • Set unused stdin to ignore at the recognized scip-python dist/vendor.js
subprocess helper through its known wrapper while retaining captured stdout and
stderr. Sandbox stdin denials no longer appear as exit-zero successes; missing
expected helpers or ambiguous dependencies fail before changing a bundle, and
    unknown versions remain unpatched.

  • Bound nonconverging Python loop antecedents and repeated callback-free type
rendering in the pinned emitter. Preserve accumulated types and inference
callbacks; explicitly truncate oversized rendered diagnostics and inferred
return documentation. Reject partial or changed compatibility repairs.

  • Reuse completed flow-reachability results within synchronous evaluation in the
pinned Python emitter. Preserve active guards, provisional callback state,
finally gates, depth cutoffs, exception cleanup, and the bounded cache lifetime.

  • Avoid duplicate type-equality checks during union construction in the pinned
Python emitter. Preserve literal erasure, union ordering, subtype caps, and
existing pseudo-generic and TypedDict collapse behavior.

  • Reuse completed type-equality comparisons in the pinned Python emitter within
each synchronous call. Preserve ordered pairs, options, recursion depths,
union exclusions, exception cleanup, and mutation boundaries. Allocate cache
collections only for traversals exceeding 32 non-identity comparisons.

  • Avoid repeated solved-TypeVar and unique-signature traversal of proven inert
    shared graphs in the
pinned managed Python emitter. Rebuild proof per call, preserve stateful
fallbacks, and pin the complete bundle before applying the repair.

  • Reuse completed Pyright specialization checks within each traversal for the
recognized managed Python emitter, preserving depth-sensitive results, options,
cycles and mutation boundaries; reject ambiguous or partial repairs.

  • Emit Python member metadata in its defining document when cross-file references
cache the identity first. Preserve raw occurrences and existing metadata, and
cover both file orders, same-file reads, locals, and unrelated attribute writes.

  • Repair wildcard-import callable variables when Pyright resolves the exact
nonlocal declaration, preserving the declaration identity and failing closed
    on missing or conflicting ownership.

  • Add identity-only metadata for exact recovered standalone-star definitions
without changing raw occurrences, inferring types, or treating invalid Python
    as valid source.

  • Prune unselected Python shard entrypoints for explicit file selections,
including saved hints and out-of-memory retries, while keeping dependency
analysis, original paths, conservative scheduling, and selected hidden sources.

  • Suppress member hover metadata on bare stdlib module containers while retaining
exact leaf and module-initializer documentation and all raw occurrences.

  • Send CLI diagnostics and tracing to stderr so --format json stdout remains
    clean for scripts and CI.

  • Preserve original project paths and package identities for loose Python shard
targets instead of staging batches outside the source tree. Resolve imported
.. document paths against the original target before merging; retain prior
output when the real emitter fails.

Maintenance

  • Fix CI workflow validation by resolving the disposable Python emitter path
in step scope, and apply standard Rust formatting.

  • Restore GUI compilation after the intermediate-directory addition while
retaining its project-root language output locations.

  • Expand emitter and runner regression coverage, including real Python shard
coverage on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

  • Document the SDL-MCP agent workflow and ignore local work and SDL-MCP folders.

  • Synchronize Rust, GUI, installer, and lockfile versions to 0.2.6.

v0.2.5

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Sep 17:33

Changes since v0.2.4

  • Preserve documentation and inheritance metadata for forward-referenced Python classes.
  • Restore nonlocal binding metadata for annotations, nested/starred destructuring, loop targets, with aliases, exception aliases, assignment expressions, and structural pattern captures in managed scip-python 0.6.6.
  • Preserve existing identities and source ranges on the generic declaration path, and emit metadata even when hover documentation is unavailable. Assignment-target repair intentionally corrects builtin-shadowing identities (for example, for int in [1]) to the bound variable.
  • Skip ignored _ destructuring and loop targets so they do not acquire orphan metadata. Preserve existing local, attribute, subscript, wildcard-import, and slot behavior.

Fresh and existing managed npm installations receive these repairs; custom indexers remain caller-managed. Regenerate SCIP output to obtain repaired metadata. The invalid standalone starred-assignment fixture remains separately unresolved, and qualification gates are unchanged. This release does not claim full benchmark requalification.

Validation includes raw-emitter regression checks for unique metadata, unchanged generic occurrences, missing-documentation handling, ignored underscores, builtin shadowing, and earlier compatibility repairs.

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Sep 17:41

Changes since v0.2.3

  • Include Python .pyi stubs in explicit file manifests and identify their SCIP language correctly.
  • Repair managed scip-python 0.6.6 indexing of explicit files in hidden directories, including .github workflows.
  • Preserve class-owned slot attribute identities, inherited slots, and module-level annotated variable identities. Fresh and existing managed installations receive the repairs; custom indexers remain caller-managed.

Validation: 285 routine Rust tests and two real-emitter regression tests passed. Fresh Xarray indexing passed the unchanged qualification verifier with all 166 Python files, including stubs and the hidden workflow. The accompanying SDL batch-write fix is required to avoid the independent native database crash.

v0.2.3

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Sep 04:40

Changes since v0.2.2

Fixed Python SCIP target identities

  • Fixed a symbol-cache collision in scip-python 0.6.6: names imported through from module import * share a declaration node, causing later functions to point to the first resolved function. The repair skips cache writes for wildcard-import declarations and lets the backend resolve each name independently.
  • SCIP-IO applies the repair to both new and existing managed npm installations. Ordinary declaration caching is preserved. Custom indexer binaries remain caller-managed.
  • Added installation-repair and idempotence coverage, plus a real-emitter regression for re-exports, aliases, and repeated calls. README instructions document the repair and how to run the emitter check.

Verification

Fresh raw SCIP output from the pinned Seaborn reproduction now identifies all five reported functions correctly: plotting_context, lineplot, catplot, despine, and relplot. The original artifact was preserved, and no downstream readiness gates were weakened. Previously generated indexes need regeneration with the repaired backend; this release does not rewrite existing indexes.

Local verification included 254 core tests, the additional real-emitter regression, Windows and Linux emitter checks, Clippy, and a CLI build.

v0.2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Sep 16:16

Changes since v0.2.1

SCIP-IO v0.2.2 now automatically installs the published scip-java-v0.12.3-scip-io.2 distribution for Java, Kotlin, and Scala. Installing an indexer or starting normal indexing selects the repaired package without a custom binary override.

  • Include Kotlin 2.3.21 compiler compatibility, corrected SemanticDB source ranges, and compiler-backed Gradle build/settings script indexing, alongside the existing Windows path repair.
  • Bundle the exact tested SemanticDB plugin in the CLI and Gradle plugin. All three Kotlin compilation paths load that resource without an unpublished Maven snapshot or a JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS override. Ordinary project dependencies resolve normally.
  • Retain checksum verification and a separate .2 cache directory; existing .1 installations remain untouched. Explicit custom binary settings still take precedence.
  • Synchronize CLI and GUI versions and update the distribution, rebuild, and verification documentation.

Local release checks passed: formatting, Clippy, 310 tests (four existing ignored tests), and the GUI production build. The packaged indexer was verified on unchanged Moshi with Kotlin 2.3.21 and Gradle 9.5.1: each Java/Kotlin output has 231 documents, including 13 Gradle scripts, 80,852 occurrences, and 14,596 cross-file resolved references. Other compiler/platform combinations require separate qualification; this is not a new full benchmark result.

v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Sep 01:44

SCIP-IO 0.2.1 fixes installation of the repaired scip-java artifact. Upgrading SCIP-IO to 0.2.0 did not replace cached upstream scip-java 0.12.3, so Windows Gradle initialization could still fail at line 3.

Changes since 0.2.0

  • Default Java, Kotlin, and Scala indexing now selects the versioned scip-java path repair, including Linux backend downloads.
  • Downloads and cached repair files are checked against pinned SHA-256 hashes. The complete Windows launcher/payload pair is staged before publishing the versioned cache.
  • Old unversioned caches and PATH binaries cannot silently bypass the default repair; existing files remain intact. Explicit CLI binary overrides retain precedence.
  • Incomplete managed installs remain removable through targeted cleanup and uninstall. Added regression checks and artifact staging/provenance documentation.

This repair addresses Windows path serialization only. It does not include the separate Kotlin compiler compatibility, source-range, or Gradle-script patches, and does not establish a valid Moshi token comparison.

Downloads

CLI archives and GUI installers are attached for Windows x64, macOS Intel/Apple Silicon, and Linux x64. SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for the packaged binaries.

scip-java v0.12.3 — Kotlin 2.3.21 compatibility (.2)

Choose a tag to compare

scip-java Kotlin 2.3.21 compatibility distribution

This separate indexer release replaces the path-only .1 payload for the next SCIP-IO application release. Existing SCIP-IO 0.2.1 binaries remain pinned to .1; this release does not replace or republish application binaries.

Changes since scip-java-v0.12.3-scip-io.1

  • Rebuild scip-java v0.12.3 with Kotlin 2.3.21 and the tested SemanticDB compatibility patch: registrar plugin identity, updated compiler/FIR APIs, correct multiline ranges, and closed source streams.
  • Include the source-range corrections and Gradle Kotlin DSL support for build/settings scripts, resolved Gradle API calls, script-local symbols, and removal of synthetic script fields. Compilation failures remain errors.
  • Embed the exact tested scripts4 SemanticDB plugin in the CLI and Gradle plugin. All three Kotlin compilation paths use the bundled resource, so plugin loading needs no unpublished Maven artifact or local-repository override. Project dependencies still resolve normally.
  • Preserve the Windows Gradle path repair and batch launcher. Use a separate .2 directory and immutable checksum pins; older installations remain untouched.
  • Include all source patches, the upstream license, pack input hashes, and release checksums. Staging the reviewed pack twice produced identical payload bytes.

Verification

63 focused Rust tests passed, including real-asset download, cache reuse, previous-version preservation, and tamper rejection. The packaged launcher passed fresh/warm Gradle-script indexing and invalid-script rejection with an empty Maven repository.

Fresh Java and Kotlin runs through SCIP-IO on unchanged Moshi commit 889013ec2edb8d8034902662a1dc8c4f3b3f8111 each produced 231 documents, including all 13 Gradle scripts, 80,852 occurrences, and 14,596 cross-file resolved references. Source paths and occurrence ranges were validated. The Maven repository remained empty.

Verified scope: Windows, project Kotlin 2.3.21, and Gradle 9.5.1 with embedded Kotlin 2.3.20. Other compiler/platform combinations require separate qualification. These checks are not a new full benchmark result.

scip-java 0.12.3 — SCIP-IO path repair 1

Choose a tag to compare

Windows Gradle path-serialization repair for scip-java 0.12.3, distributed for SCIP-IO 0.2.1. This is an indexer artifact release, not a SCIP-IO application update.

  • Encodes all five generated filesystem paths as Groovy string literals.
  • Payload SHA-256: 76b02676b1fceea4627faca0c236213c98595f425af9052f1b0cfb04d2b4d0e2.
  • Includes the companion Windows launcher, source patch and regression, Apache-2.0 license, provenance, and checksums.
  • Only the embedded GradleBuildTool class changes from upstream v0.12.3. This is not a complete sbt rebuild.
  • Does not include the later Kotlin compiler compatibility, source-range, or Gradle Kotlin DSL fixes; it does not establish successful Moshi indexing.

Validation: the packaged class passes all five generated-path checks and six escaping cases; installation verifies both assets, reuses the cache offline, and rejects modified bytes.

v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 09 Sep 14:39

Changes since v0.1.9

Added

  • Added documented upstream backport patches for Windows Gradle path escaping,
Kotlin 2.3.21 compiler compatibility, SemanticDB source ranges, and Gradle
Kotlin DSL script indexing, with regression fixtures, submission drafts,
pinned local integration patches, and verification evidence. These are
source patches for separately built indexers; SCIP-IO does not install the
unpublished patched indexer or plugin builds automatically.

Fixed

  • CLI native indexing now honors configured indexer binary overrides before
consulting managed installations. Relative paths resolve from the loaded
config directory, language overrides take precedence over indexer-name
overrides, and missing binaries fail without silently falling back.
  • Text and JSON dry runs now show the same configured executable used by CLI
indexing, with regression coverage for custom and missing binary paths.
  • Use fixed-size byte chunks for UTF-16 process output decoding to satisfy the
latest stable Clippy lint without changing decoding behavior.

Release packaging

  • Synchronized Rust crates, GUI package, installer configuration, and lockfiles to 0.2.0; updated the release checklist to include all version files.

Changes since v0.1.8

Added

  • Added explicit source-file indexing for both the CLI and GUI.
  • scip-io index now accepts --files and --files-from for repo-relative or absolute source-file lists.
  • Explicit file lists are validated under the selected repository root, limit indexing to represented languages, filter generated SCIP documents to the requested files, and trim C/C++ compile databases before invoking scip-clang.

Changed

  • Consolidated internal indexer-runner helper inputs so source-file filtering stays threaded through project/config sharding and Python sharding while keeping the release clippy gate clean.
