Show of Hands v14.2.0
Foundry VTT Compatibility: v14+ (verified on v14.363)
System Compatibility: System-agnostic
Safe to update mid-campaign: Yes, with a standard world backup
This release expands cursor customization and fixes several cases where cursor previews, hotspots, nameplates, and shared-cursor behavior did not match what appeared in play.
What's New
- Pressed / Held Cursor State: Customize the cursor shown after pressing the primary mouse button and before releasing it. Dragging, resizing, targeting, and canvas panning retain their own cursor states.
- Source-Aware Hotspot Controls: Hotspot sliders now use the loaded image’s actual dimensions. Large source images can place their click point across the entire image before being reduced to the browser-safe cursor size.
Improvements
- Cursor previews now use the same resize, rotation, hotspot, and size-cap calculations as the cursor shown in Foundry.
- Shared cursor nameplates now use the same placement coordinates as the Cursor Settings preview.
- Changing Shared Cursor Size no longer multiplies a player’s saved nameplate offset.
- Transparent padding in cursor images no longer pushes preset nameplates far away from the visible artwork.
- Cursor profiles and styles update more reliably in the main window and detached Foundry windows.
- Shared cursors behave more consistently during scene changes, Levels changes, permission updates, image refreshes, and periods of inactivity.
- Marquee targeting now handles cancellation, scene transitions, and target replacement more consistently.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed hotspot sliders stopping short on source images larger than 128px.
- Fixed saved hotspot coordinates being truncated to the final browser cursor limit.
- Fixed shared cursor nameplates appearing much farther away than their configured preview position.
- Fixed slow or broken cursor images leaving cursor updates waiting indefinitely.
- Fixed older cursor-image operations occasionally overwriting newer profile changes.
- Fixed malformed cursor styles when an asset path contained quotes, backslashes, or line breaks.
- Fixed several cases where pressed, panning, marquee, or detached-window state could remain active after cancellation or teardown.
- Fixed shared cursor overlays appearing in the wrong scene or Levels view.
Settings Changes
- Pressed / Held is now available as a customizable cursor-profile state.
- Hotspot slider ranges are calculated automatically from each loaded source image; no manual conversion is required.
