v1.0.1 — themed dialog and matching icon pack

Polish release. No change to the protocol, the actions or the variables — upgrading is optional if v1.0.0 works for you.

Changed

• The plugin's configuration dialog now uses Macro Deck's own themed controls. Plain WinForms text boxes rendered as white rectangles in the dark dialog.
• The port field is a text box validated on save rather than a spinner, because WinForms paints spinner buttons in the system colour whatever the theme says. Invalid input now says so instead of silently clamping.
• Placeholder text is visible in the port and extension ID fields.

New

• Icon pack. Goonsly.YoutubeIcons-1.0.0.zip — play, pause, play/pause, next and previous at 350×350 in YouTube red. Extract into %AppData%\Macro Deck\iconpacks\Goonsly.YoutubeIcons\ and restart Macro Deck. Optional; any icon pack works.

Install

Close Macro Deck, extract KeystoneDigital.YouTubeMusic-1.0.1.zip into:

%AppData%\Macro Deck\plugins\KeystoneDigital.YouTubeMusic\

Start Macro Deck, then Extensions → YouTube Music → Configure to copy the connection token.

The Chrome extension is unchanged from v1.0.0. If you already have it loaded, skip it.

v1.0.0 — YouTube Music for Macro Deck

First release. Control YouTube Music in Chrome from a Macro Deck 2 button, with Macro Deck variables that follow the browser's real playback state.

No WebNowPlaying, no Windows global media controls, no cloud service. Nothing leaves the machine.

Bind youtube_music_playing to a button's state for a play/pause icon that follows the browser rather than the last press.

Install

Plugin. Close Macro Deck, extract KeystoneDigital.YouTubeMusic-1.0.0.zip into:

%AppData%\Macro Deck\plugins\KeystoneDigital.YouTubeMusic\

Start Macro Deck. Open Extensions, YouTube Music, Configure, and copy the token.

Extension. Extract youtube-music-for-macro-deck-extension.zip, then in chrome://extensions turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extracted folder. Open its options and paste the token.

A Chrome Web Store listing is in preparation. Until then the extension installs unpacked.

Security

The plugin listens on 127.0.0.1 only. Because WebSocket connections ignore CORS, loopback binding alone is not enough, so the handshake also checks the Origin is a Chrome extension and requires a token generated on your machine. Anything else is closed before a message is read.

Known issue

Macro Deck 2.15.1 can paint a bound button as a broken-image tile after an icon swap, with System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid from RoundedButton.OnPaint in its log. The fault is in Macro Deck's painter, not this plugin; it also occurs with other plugins that update variables. State writes are marshalled to the UI thread and debounced by 200 ms to trigger it as rarely as possible.
