FullSpectrum Studio v0.5.1 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.5.1 Official Release
Version 0.5.1 fixes inventory selection, adds direct control over available
filament colors, and removes repeated large-model work from forecasts and
conversion.
Inventory Fix
FullSpectrum could read an older Bambu Studio Beta inventory when both the Beta
and main Bambu Studio profiles existed. A spool recently added to the main
Filament Manager was then missing from My Inventory planning even though Bambu
Studio showed it correctly.
The app now selects the inventory file updated most recently, with the main
Bambu Studio profile winning a timestamp tie. The inventory screen also opens
when fewer than two colors are active; conversion reports the physical-color
requirement when a plan is attempted.
Filament Color Selection
The macOS and Windows apps now show the colors available to the current
filament source before planning. Owned colors include their combined remaining
grams.
Each color has two independent controls:
- Enabled colors may be selected automatically by the planner.
- Pinned colors must occupy a physical filament slot.
At least two distinct colors must remain enabled. A pinned color is enabled
automatically, and disabled colors are excluded from owned-filament guidance.
Faster Large-Model Work
The first 3D preview builds one bounded display mesh. FullSpectrum now reuses
that mesh for render-weighted planning, predicted color previews, color-loss
heatmaps and anchor-influence views. Plan-only forecasts read settings and
paint states directly from the 3MF instead of extracting and fingerprinting the
whole archive.
Common Bambu mixer results and color distances are cached without changing the
recipe search or reconstructed swatches. Preview resolution, source paint
mapping and final validation are unchanged.
On the local 84 MB verification project with 5.4 million triangles:
- A Best/Smart forecast after preview creation fell from about 77 seconds to
15 seconds. - A complete cached conversion, archive rewrite, reopen and validation took
about 27 seconds.
The source project used for this check is private and is not part of the
release.
Validation And Privacy
- All 65 engine and desktop regression tests pass.
- The optimized preview is byte-for-byte equivalent apart from its local
material-library filename. - Bambu mixed-color reconstruction regressions retain the same expected
swatches. - The release contains no submitted model, model filename, local path,
inventory record, spool quantity, account detail or private log.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.5.0 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.5.0 Official Release
Version 0.5.0 makes palette planning automatic and visible before conversion.
It also makes My Inventory behavior explicit when an important color is not
available in Bambu Studio's active Filament Manager entries.
Automatic Live Forecast
- Best planning and render-preview weighting are the default workflow.
- Changing the source model, filament source, physical-slot count, quality or
palette schedules a debounced forecast automatically. - macOS displays the predicted reduced-color model in the movable 3D viewer.
- The forecast reports estimated accuracy, confidence, maximum visible Delta E,
expected swatches and the physical-plus-mixed slot plan. - Plan-only analysis can generate predicted, color-loss and anchor-influence
meshes without writing a converted.3mf.
Estimated accuracy compares the planned palette with the source paint colors.
It is useful for comparing plans, but it is not a calibrated guarantee of the
printed result. Filament opacity, printer settings, layer geometry and lighting
can all change physical color.
Inventory Guidance
My Inventory intentionally plans only with compatible active PLA colors found
in Bambu Studio's Filament Manager. If a key color is absent, FullSpectrum now
shows the worst target-to-predicted match and recommends a substantially closer
filament. The UI says whether that suggestion is already in My Inventory or is
available only from the broader Bambu catalog, and can apply the suggestion to
the plan.
Redesigned Desktop Apps
- macOS keeps automatic forecasts in the Plan workspace, overlays the estimated
accuracy on the viewer and presents expected swatches and inventory guidance
beside the planning controls. - Windows uses a new split workspace with a source thumbnail, accuracy gauge,
confidence and error metrics, expected palette swatches, slot summary and an
actionable missing-filament notice. - Manual Preview Plan remains available on both platforms. Stale automatic
results are discarded when planning controls change.
Compatibility And Validation
- The 0.4.16 fix for newer H2C three-value filament setting vectors remains in
place, preventing the Bambu Studiovectorimport error when output filament
counts change. - The bundled engine no longer writes Python bytecode inside the signed macOS
app, preserving its resource seal after forecasts and conversions run. - All 62 automated engine and desktop tests pass.
- The macOS app and extracted release archive pass strict ad-hoc signature
verification. Windows portable and installer packages are built and checked
by the tagged release workflow. - No submitted model, filename, inventory content, local path, private log,
account detail or private screenshot is included in the release.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.16 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.16 Official Release
Version 0.4.16 fixes a Bambu Studio import failure affecting newer H2C project
files when FullSpectrum changes their filament count.
H2C Vector Compatibility
Newer H2C projects can store several filament settings as three values per
filament. FullSpectrum previously recognized one-, two- and four-value layouts,
so the three-value arrays were left at the source filament count while the rest
of the project moved to the new count. Bambu Studio then reported vector and
followed it with a missing geometry warning.
FullSpectrum now recognizes and remaps the complete three-value blocks. This
keeps every filament-related vector aligned with the exported filament list.
Validation
- 59 automated engine and desktop tests pass.
- A five-to-six-filament H2C regression verifies every three-value setting
block is expanded to the correct length and keeps its slot grouping. - The reported H2C project reopens and slices in Bambu Studio with intact
geometry, five physical filaments, one logical mixed slot and preserved eye
details. - No submitted model, filename, inventory export, local path, private log,
account detail or screenshot is included in the release.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.15 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.15 Official Release
Version 0.4.15 corrects filament profile metadata and prevents Auto from
expanding small projects to more physical filaments than they started with.
Printer-Matched Filament Data
Inventory and catalog planning no longer carry a hardcoded H2C filament preset
into every output. FullSpectrum now uses neutral Bambu base profiles while
planning and binds each exported built-in filament to the printer profile
already stored in the source project. An A1 project therefore receives A1
filament presets instead of H2C preset IDs or Bambu Studio fallback badges.
Physical Slot Limit
When a project has six or fewer active source colors, Auto keeps that same
physical filament count. Automatic reduction begins when the source exceeds
the six-slot automatic limit. A manual physical-slot choice remains an
explicit override.
The reported five-color rooster project now uses five physical filaments plus
one logical mixed slot. The mixed slot combines two of those physical
filaments; it is not a sixth spool. Black and white remain exact, estimated
mean Delta E is 1.33 and maximum Delta E is 2.70.
Validation
- 58 automated engine and desktop tests pass.
- The generated A1 project contains only A1-compatible built-in preset IDs.
- The reported project reopened in Bambu Studio with five physical filaments,
one mixed slot, intact geometry and black eye details. - No user model, inventory export, local path, private log or screenshot is
included in the release.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.14 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.14 Official Release
Version 0.4.14 fixes automatic palette plans that could preserve large painted
regions while shifting a small black, white or other high-contrast detail too
far. It also hardens H2C project handling and makes copied support reports safe
to share.
Detail Preservation
Automatic anchor selection now gives the largest visible color error more
weight. When another physical slot materially protects a small high-contrast
detail, Auto can use it instead of optimizing only for the much larger painted
regions. The reported quality score is also capped by the worst visible error,
and both mean and maximum estimated error are shown in the desktop apps.
Planning now includes object- and part-level filament assignments even when a
region has no explicit painted facets. Unused source colors no longer create
unused mixed-recipe slots.
H2C Compatibility
Two-nozzle filament vectors and purge matrices are tested as complete slot
blocks when a converted palette changes size. A second-pass workflow that adds
or repaints a physical color, switches to H2C and converts again was also
validated. The generated project reopened with its geometry and color arrays
intact on the current Bambu Studio build used for validation.
A separately reported Bambu Studio vector too long / missing-geometry dialog
did not reproduce on that current build, so this release does not claim a
Bambu-side crash fix. The new regression protects the FullSpectrum metadata
path that can be verified locally.
Privacy
Copy Error Report on macOS and Windows now omits local paths, model names,
inventory data, tracebacks and raw engine output. Detailed diagnostics remain
available only in a private local log. No user model, inventory export,
generated output, debug log or private screenshot is included in this release.
Windows packaging now uses Pillow 12.3.0, which fixes the vulnerabilities
reported against 12.2.0. The release workflow runs pip-audit before building
the Windows packages. The macOS ZIP is extracted and its app signature is
strictly verified before publication.
Validation
- All
57Python engine and desktop tests pass. - The reported small-detail color shift is reproduced by a regression fixture
and remains protected by the corrected automatic plan. - H2C two-nozzle arrays and edited second-pass conversion are covered.
- The macOS Swift package builds in debug and release modes.
- The Windows shell compiles and imports without opening a GUI.
- The pinned Windows packaging dependencies pass
pip-auditwith no known
vulnerabilities. - GitHub Actions builds the macOS ZIP, Windows portable ZIP and Windows
installer from the release tag.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.13 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.13 Official Release
Version 0.4.13 brings the current macOS work back into one cross-platform
release. It also fixes a palette parser error found in a real 32-slot project.
Fixed
Bambu projects can store a filament color with eight hex digits. One observed
project used #00000000 in slot 1. FullSpectrum accepted only six-digit values,
so it dropped that entry, treated the 32-slot palette as 31 slots and rejected
a valid slot 32 paint state. The parser now accepts six- and eight-digit Bambu
colors while preserving every slot position. Invalid values report their slot
number instead of shifting the palette.
The macOS app now clears old results when planning settings change or a new run
starts. A finished Preview Plan opens the Results inspector automatically.
Anchor searches no longer remove pins that happen to be hidden by the current
search text, and the UI stops users from pinning more physical colors than the
selected slot count allows.
macOS
The main window now keeps the model preview as the primary workspace. Planning,
filament inventory and results use separate inspector tabs, with a compact
activity strip below the preview. Controls use a quieter neutral palette and
fit at the default and compact window sizes.
Windows
The Windows shell now has a Preview Plan button. It runs the same local planner
without writing a 3MF, then lists physical and mixed slot counts, quality,
confidence, printability, anchors, recommendations and warnings. Planning can
use paint-state or render-preview weighting. The title bar and header show the
release version. Windows packaging now uses Pillow 12.2.0 and PyInstaller
6.21.0; the pinned direct dependencies pass pip-audit with no known
vulnerabilities.
Privacy
This release contains no user model, inventory export, generated report, debug
log or local workspace note. Old private-model screenshots and machine-specific
paths were removed from the current tree. Generated files remain local unless
the user chooses to share them.
Validation
- All
49Python engine and desktop tests pass. - The macOS Swift package builds in debug and release modes.
- The signed macOS app bundle passes strict verification.
- The Windows shell compiles and imports without opening a GUI.
- GitHub Actions builds the Windows portable ZIP and Inno Setup installer from
the same tag used for the macOS package.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.12 macOS H2C Prerelease
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.12 macOS H2C Prerelease
This macOS-only prerelease focuses on the H2C workflow: faster Best planner
search, clearer palette controls, and a viewport that uses an H2C-sized plate
reference. It keeps the same honest scope as previous releases:
FullSpectrum reduces and remaps existing Bambu painted .3mf states. It does
not repaint, smooth or clean up a badly painted model.
What changed since v0.4.9
- Best planner now uses an adaptive spectrum search. It probes around quality
70/100, reads the resulting error/waste, then jumps only to quality bands
that are likely to improve the model. Skipped bands are written into the JSON
result and validation report. - Anchor shortlisting now keeps hue and neutral spectrum compartments so reds,
blues, yellows, darks and warm/cool neutrals have a better chance to survive
into the final physical-slot search. - The engine builds a target-aware in-memory mix recipe database for the active
Bambu candidate pool, so repeated anchor trials reuse reconstructed Bambu mix
colors instead of recomputing the same pair and triple recipes. - macOS planning can use render-preview weighting. The optimized viewport mesh
can guide anchor selection for large visible regions while the final.3mf
export still uses the original decoded Bambu paint states. - The macOS viewer now shows an H2C-oriented
330 x 320Textured PEI plate
reference, including a front marker and model-scale-aware plate sizing. - The app displays the bundle version badge in the lower-right corner.
- Catalog planning and anchor selection can be filtered by Bambu material
family, with optional pinned anchors and one-click recommended anchors. - The estimate text uses option-aware local runtime history and model metrics,
and active progress reports when a deep search is still working rather than
silently appearing frozen.
Seraphin private benchmark
The private Seraphin source model was used locally to validate this build. The
source .3mf, reference .glb and generated model exports are not included in
the repository or release notes.

Validation
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -vpassed:45tests.swift buildpassed../script/build_and_run.sh buildproduceddist/FullSpectrum Studio.app.- The Desktop copy reports version
0.4.12, build14. codesign --verify --deep --verbose=2passed for the Desktop app bundle.
Known limits
- FullSpectrum still remaps existing paint states only.
- Very complex/noisy painted models can still take minutes in Best mode.
- Bambu catalog colors are local planning entries, not live regional stock
checks. - Physical print color depends on filament opacity, layer height, lighting and
calibration; the app validates against Bambu's reconstructed swatches, not a
measured print.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.9 Official Release
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.9 Official Release
This release is the first official package after the v0.4.8 community
reliability preview. It keeps the same honest scope: FullSpectrum reduces and
remaps existing Bambu painted .3mf states. It does not repaint, smooth or
clean up a badly painted model.
What changed
- Smart quality is now the recommended default. It tests practical, balanced,
detail and high-detail plans, scores the final validated palette, and keeps
the best tradeoff for the painted usage in that model. - Physical anchor selection now favors filament choices that produce better
final Bambu-reconstructed mixed swatches, not just closer direct colors. - macOS and Windows both expose a catalog-region selector for Bambu planning
colors. The chosen region is written into warnings, JSON output and the
shareable report. - Catalog regions are planning metadata only. FullSpectrum does not query live
Bambu store stock, so check availability before buying filament. - The v0.4.8 fixes remain in place: real error reports, local debug logs,
cancellable conversion, progress heartbeat text, readable dark-mode controls
and safer large-model preview handling.
Compatibility
- Primary input remains a painted Bambu
.3mf. - Textured OBJ/GLB import remains experimental and size/format constrained.
- Very complex or noisy painted files can still be slow or visually imperfect,
because the output can only be as clean as the original paint-state data. - Every generated
.3mfis reopened and validated before the app offers it to
Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer.
Validation used for this release
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -vswift build./script/build_and_run.sh build- Local conversion checks for catalog-region output, smart Bambu Core planning
and CMYKW quality-100 planning on the public bald-eagle test model used
during the v0.4.8 reliability pass.

Reliability and Diagnostics
Version 0.4.8 focuses on the tester reports from v0.4.6/v0.4.7 where some
painted .3mf files appeared to freeze and eventually showed an unhelpful
none error.
- The macOS app now reads both stdout and stderr from the Python conversion
engine while it runs. Large final JSON results no longer block the child
process before the app can decode them. - Failed conversions show the real Python exception or JSON decode issue
instead of a generic failure. - Failed macOS conversions write a local debug log under
~/Library/Logs/FullSpectrumStudio/. - The error alert can copy a complete error report and open the debug log.
- The shared Python engine now prints a full traceback for command-line,
macOS-app and Windows-desktop failures. - The Windows desktop shell now shows tracebacks in its output panel, writes a
local debug log and can copy the error report. - Custom palette JSON parse errors include the file position that failed.
Conversion Control
- Conversion and preview work can be cancelled from visible UI controls.
- Cancelling a macOS conversion terminates the active child Python process and
escalates to a hard kill if the process does not exit promptly. - Long-running work now shows heartbeat status. After a quiet period it says
the engine is still working; after a longer quiet period it warns that the
operation may be stuck and can be cancelled. - A failed conversion cancels pending output-preview work so the app does not
continue building a preview from a failed result.
UI Fixes
- Browse/action button labels stay readable on hover/press in the Windows
desktop shell and macOS app. - macOS menu pickers visibly show the selected filament source, physical slot
count and handoff destination. - Status and progress text wraps instead of clipping awkwardly.
- Error messages are selectable/copyable and kept readable.
- Choosing a custom JSON palette from the macOS conversion prompt resumes the
conversion instead of requiring a second start attempt.
Honest Scope
FullSpectrum reduces and remaps existing Bambu paint states in a painted .3mf.
It does not repaint the model, smooth noisy painted regions or clean up a bad
source paint job. Very complex/noisy painted files can still be hard cases; the
new build should fail with useful diagnostics instead of silently hanging or
showing none.
Verification
- Python engine tests include regressions for custom JSON parse diagnostics and
command-line traceback output. - The macOS Swift package builds in release mode.
- The release app bundle path is still produced by
script/build_and_run.sh.
FullSpectrum Studio v0.4.7 Community Preview
FullSpectrum Studio 0.4.7 Community Preview
CMYKW Quality-100 Fix
Version 0.4.7 fixes a CMYKW palette reduction failure where quality 100
could reject useful mixed recipes and remap large warm painted regions to the
nearest physical white or warm-white slot.
- The mix reliability threshold now follows the quality slider.
- Default quality keeps the earlier conservative Delta E
8gate. - Quality
100allows moderate CMYKW blends up to Delta E14when they
produce a clear visual gain. - The real benchmark file now keeps its source bright-paint share instead of
collapsing most painted facets to warm white. - Output filenames now use the
v0.4.7engine stamp.
Packaging
- macOS release ZIPs are created without resource-fork or Finder metadata
payloads, reducing the chance of local extended attributes interfering with
ad-hoc signature verification after download. - Windows and macOS tagged releases continue to build from source through the
shared release workflow.
Verification
- Added a regression that reproduces the warm-tone CMYKW quality-100 collapse
and confirms the tan/brown slots become mixed recipes rather than warm white. - Regression coverage still rejects genuinely misleading mixed recipes even
when they beat poor physical anchors. - The full engine test suite passes with
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests. - Local macOS ZIP/extract verification confirms the v0.4.7 app bundle reports
version0.4.7and passes strict ad-hoc signature verification after a
metadata-free ZIP round trip.
