Grandia III for PC v1.0.0

First release of Grandia III for PC: a native Windows version of the PS2 game, made by static recompilation.

No game data is included - you need your own copy of Grandia III (USA). At the first start the program asks for the disc image (ISO) of disc 1; it reads it as it is and does not change or copy it.

Install

1. Download Grandia3-PC-v1.0.0.zip and unzip it into a folder of its own.
2. Start Grandia3.exe and choose your Grandia III (USA) (Disc 1).iso.

Tip: put the ISO into the program folder as disc1.iso (disc 2: disc2.iso) or with its Redump name - it is then found without a file dialog.

Steam Deck: add Grandia3.exe as a non-Steam game and set Proton as its compatibility tool. Copy your ISOs next to the exe as disc1.iso / disc2.iso and no file dialog is needed in Game Mode. The Deck is detected automatically (16:10 widescreen, full screen, large dialogue windows).

• Internal resolution up to 8x (automatic), real 16:9 / 16:10 widescreen with 4:3 menus
• 60 fps in the field and optionally in battles, automatic fallback to 30
• Savestates everywhere (F5 / F9, controller: Back+R1 / Back+L1)
• Skippable cutscenes and movies, frame rate display, sharpening, filters
• Large dialogue windows (window, text, portrait, name plate 1.25x) for small screens
• Original English text or a complete German translation
• HD texture packs supported (no pack included)

Known limits

• Performance on real Steam Deck hardware has not been measured yet - reports welcome (F7 shows the frame rate).
• Needs a Direct3D 11.3 graphics driver with rasterizer ordered views (most GPUs since ~2015; on Linux via Proton/DXVK).
