v0.4 - more mods and controller button re-mapping
Version 0.4 of the Android port of ZeldaWWHDRecomp: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U, USA and Europe) as a native Android app.
The app contains no game files. You need your own dump of the game: the disc image (.wux or .wud), its disc key and the Wii U common key. On the first start the app extracts the game from it and prepares the game code for your device (once; a few minutes on a fast phone, longer on slower ones).
What's new
- Remap controller buttons: assign every Wii U button to another button of your controller (Controls › Controller buttons). Choose the Wii U button, then press the controller button; a button already in use swaps places, so nothing gets lost. Home / Guide and holding Select always open the menu.
- Faster running and swimming (a new mod in the Mods tab): Link runs and swims 1.25× up to 4× as fast; jumps, rolls, climbing and the boat keep their speed. Each one applies always or with L3: one press switches it on and the next off, or only while L3 is held. Running and swimming have their own settings, and an L3 press switches the one for what Link is doing.
Install
- Requirements: Android 11 or newer, 64-bit ARM, Vulkan 1.1, about 2 GB of free storage.
- Download
tloz_tww_hd_recomp-0.4.apkand install it. It updates 0.3 in place and keeps your saves and settings. No new compile this time: the game code prepared by 0.3 is used as it is. (Coming from 0.2, the game code is prepared again once.) - New install: put your disc image and both keys in one folder, start the app, choose Extract from your disc image… and select that folder.
Save states made with 0.3 should keep loading; if one doesn't, your game save is not affected.
On some older Snapdragon phones (seen on a Snapdragon 855) the system's GPU driver hangs after a while and the game closes: install a Turnip driver there (Graphics › GPU driver).
Frame generation needs the usual Lossless.dll from your own copy of Lossless Scaling. Buy it, don't pirate it like Gonzo would.
Everything else is in the README.

v0.3 - features, improvements, fixes
Version 0.3 of the Android port of ZeldaWWHDRecomp: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U, USA and Europe) as a native Android app.
The app contains no game files. You need your own dump of the game: the disc image (.wux or .wud), its disc key and the Wii U common key. On the first start the app extracts the game from it and prepares the game code for your device (once; a few minutes on a fast phone, longer on slower ones).
What's new
- The European version of the game is supported. An additional Game tab in the overlay options menu with the game language (USA: English, French, Spanish; Europe: also German and Italian) was added.
- Custom GPU drivers on Adreno GPUs: Turnip or newer Qualcomm drivers, in the driver packages other emulators use (Graphics › GPU driver)
- Gyro aiming with the device's or a controller's motion sensors (DualSense, DualShock 4, Switch Pro and others), also with "Wii U Pro Controller" selected which is important for single screen devices to show the map on main screen;
- Force feedback on the device itself or an attached controller
- Dual-screen devices (AYN Thor and the like): the GamePad picture on the second screen, with touch. Support is experimental.
- Save states keep the controller mode (GamePad or Pro Controller) and switch back to it when loaded
- Performance overlay: average frame rate, the graphics settings in use, SoC, GPU and GPU driver
- Faster on weaker devices, especially Mali GPUs: BC textures unpacked on the GPU, precise Vulkan barriers, less work on the render thread, Android performance hints and game modes
- Fixes: a crash at boot on devices whose storage tells upper and lower case apart; the Saves tab shows a new state as soon as it is written
On some older Snapdragon phones (seen on a Snapdragon 855) the system's GPU driver hangs after a while and the game closes: install a Turnip driver there.
Install
- Requirements: Android 11 or newer, 64-bit ARM, Vulkan 1.1, about 2 GB of free storage.
- Download
tloz_tww_hd_recomp-0.3.apkand install it. It updates 0.2 in place and keeps your saves; the game code is prepared again once. Sorry, but too much has changed. - New install: put your disc image and both keys in one folder, start the app, choose Extract from your disc image… and select that folder.
Save states made with 0.2 may not load in 0.3 (states are tied to the build that saved them); your game save carries over.
Frame generation needs the usual Lossless.dll from your own copy of Lossless Scaling. Buy it, don't pirate it like Gonzo would.
