August 0.23.0 adds multicore workers with private heaps, copied inputs and results, bounded admission, checked failures, and joined cleanup. Workers use the existing task scopes and waits. Native resources stay on their creating worker. The separate GPU package supports Metal operations on Apple Silicon; CUDA support remains deferred.

HTTP handlers can authenticate at headers before accepting an upload or sending 100 Continue. Configurable reception deadlines, request limits and application-controlled drain bound stalled senders and shutdown. Crypto adds native Ed25519 verification and a configured JOSE identity verifier. A separately named JSON compatibility parser preserves legacy duplicate-key and number handling within documented bounds. Binary and text helpers provide checked slices, hexadecimal output, decimal comparison, UTF-16 limits and float32 validation.

The new PostgreSQL package uses real libpq 18.6 with OpenSSL 3.5.9. Matching PyTorch, SQLite, zlib, BLAKE3 and GPU package releases are available from their public repositories through ordinary August imports.

Install

Requires Node.js 24 or later. Supported hosts are macOS 14+ ARM64 and GNU/Linux x86-64 or ARM64 with glibc 2.36+. August downloads its verified LLVM/runtime pack; consumers need no separate compiler or SDK. npm deployment runs after this release is published. Once it completes:

npm install --global @greenpandastudios/aug-cli@0.23.0
aug init hello-august
cd hello-august
aug run

The matching VSIX, offline wiki, compiler packs and four npm archives are attached. SHA256SUMS covers every release archive.

Validation

Release qualification passed on all three hosts, including 30-minute runtime circuits, sanitizer and race checks, LLVM parity, performance gates, safety gyms and installed-package tests. Clean consumers passed on macOS 14 with developer tools removed and Debian 12 without compilers, Git or development headers. These are finite checks; application behavior and production deployment still need their own qualification.
