Fixed

  • Failed, activating and not-found systemd units keep their state. systemctl marks these units with ● (* in the C locale). Those lines are now parsed, so a failed unit shows active=failed and units that are referenced but not found appear in the report.
  • Scanning a repository never starts a background process. Every git call passes -c core.fsmonitor=, so a repository with core.fsmonitor=true no longer makes git status launch git fsmonitor--daemon.
  • Bare repositories are reported with status bare, and the scan completes with exit 0.
  • An unreadable unit directory is reported as an inventory-error and marks the scan incomplete, as wrapper directories already did.
  • --include-env-names lists only real variable names. Lines inside multi-line quoted values (PEM blocks, $'...' strings, backslash continuations) are never read as names. export NAME=value lines (the usual .envrc form) are counted.
  • Cron command previews stop at the first unescaped % and show the standard input that follows as %<redacted>.
  • Markdown reports write line breaks inside cells and warnings as \n/\r, so every item stays on one table row.
  • #! detection reads at most 8 KiB from a binary and 64 KiB from a script. A 50 MB executable without line breaks now takes 2.7 ms and 2.8 MB.

Faster

  • One git status --porcelain=v2 --branch call gives both the branch and the changes. A 64-repository scan starts 129 processes instead of 193 and runs 1.25x faster.
  • Repository discovery uses the directory listing it already has: 2.0x faster over a 9,000-directory tree.

Added

  • scripts/build-release.sh: a reproducible release archive with a SHA-256 checksum.
