Release list
Benchdrop v4.3.3
Benchdrop 4.3.3 is the first public release. Drop in a project zip, folder, file, GitHub link or Windows program, and Benchdrop installs what it needs, runs it in its own window and logs what it does. Autotest clicks through the app and reports errors, failed requests, crashes and hangs. Claude Desktop or Claude Code can drive Benchdrop through an optional connector, with your own Claude account.
In this release
- Installs for you only, in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Benchdrop, with no administrator prompt. The installer shows the license and offers a desktop shortcut (unticked). It closes a running Benchdrop before installing. - The uninstaller asks whether to delete Benchdrop's data, and keeps it by default.
- A project's servers stop when Benchdrop closes. If Benchdrop is ended from Task Manager or crashes, the next start ends what that session left running, so ports aren't left busy.
- Node.js downloads are checked against nodejs.org's SHA-256 list before they are used.
- Help → About Benchdrop shows the version, copyright, license and website.
- Electron and other Chromium-based Windows programs are started with accessibility on, so Trace and Autotest can see and press their buttons and fields, and read their screens in well under a second. The live picture of an undocked program now says it is a picture, and clicking it brings the real window forward.
- If you installed an earlier test build of Benchdrop, it isn't upgraded by this installer. Uninstall it from Installed apps.
The full list is in CHANGELOG.md.
Requirements
Windows 10 (22H2) or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64). Nothing else to install. Node.js is downloaded the first time a Node project needs it; other languages (Python, PHP, Go, Rust, Ruby, .NET, Java) use what's already installed.
Install
Run Benchdrop_v4.3.3_win-x64_setup.exe. Silent install and uninstall:
Benchdrop_v4.3.3_win-x64_setup.exe /S
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Benchdrop\Uninstall Benchdrop.exe" /currentuser /S
Verify the download
| File | SHA-256 |

In PowerShell, run Get-FileHash .\Benchdrop_v4.3.3_win-x64_setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256 and compare the result with the value above.
Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" when you first run a new release, because Windows has not yet seen enough downloads of it. Check that the SHA-256 shown here matches your file, then choose More info, then Run anyway. This release is not code-signed.
Benchdrop is an independent project. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Anthropic, GitHub, the OpenJS Foundation (Node.js) or Microsoft, and those names belong to their owners.
